It’s not that they’re trying to protect him exclusively. They are protecting the ad-revenue and ratings from all the non-football fans tuning in to watch Taylor Swift. Teenage girls and their moms tuning into cheer every time they pan to this woman in the booth is more $$$ for everyone.

I am sure this has a lot to do with it and that’s why it makes me even more disgusted. It veers far more into “entertainment” than sports.

Your right. This began last season.. People forget he has had a number of lower leg injuries.. knee, and ankle injuries.. he looks like he's laboring.. he will make a splash play here and there but nothing like the Mahomes we say earlier in his career.

I don't know how anyone watching that Chiefs/Texans game could not come away thinking that game was rigged. 3 really bad penalty calls that benefited the Chiefs. The roughing the passer for the push out of bounds was ludicrous. Mahomes was totally inbounds when he was pushed out.

If they don't want QBs getting pushed out or tackled or even touched, just put flags on their hips.

What pisses me off even more is the number of actual roughing the passer calls that happened to Drake Maye this past season that weren't called. It's become a big problem.

It’s at the point where it’s shocking when there’s contact between a defender and Mahomes and there’s not a penalty.

I’m curious where the NFL’s officiating assist people were when the Texans receiver made the first down line and the refs marked him short. They couldn’t have been distracted by the events in a different game.

I’m pretty certain that’s something that league HQ can buzz the game officials about. 2 years ago, Cole Strange picked up a loose ball on a fourth down and tried to pick up the 1st down. He was close, but the officials marked him short and NFL HQ confirmed the call. I’m not sure why they didn’t that for a playoff game.

Even if you ignore the 5th one because the game was over, you just can't turn it over 4 times. IMHO it is actually impressive how close the final was given the 4-0 turnover ratio.

I think true football fans are starting to hate the Chiefs more than the Pats due to the favoritism of the refs. In fact, there’s memes of Mahomes/ref jersey swaps. There’s also a sound bite of Mahomes asking the ref to alert him if a defender was nearby when running of bounds.

But Taylor Swift has brought a ton of popularity to the Chiefs.

I honestly thought as draft day was approaching that Daniels had all the tools to be a great QB in NFL and he might make faster progress due to all his college experience……but his physical “stature” or physique scared me a bit because he is so lean. I kept thinking that if this guy takes a couple big hits he’s going to be on IR quickly! Kept thinking of Thornton when I looked at him who went on IR if he sneezed too hard. But man, Daniels is the real deal and he has a great team around him ….Great OL, McLaurin, Ertz, Robinson….good D….and clicks with the coaches….match made in heaven! Very impressive and exciting player
