NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION NFL Divisional playoffs discussion

Prorated Maye numbers for a full season and it's pretty comparable. The turnovers are a issue though.

That said. Maye is almost 3 years younger than Daniels. It's really not fair to compare them like that.
also Daniels has weapons and an OL...so the comparison is apples and oranges to some extent. Pretty much going on their college performance,

Prorate the numbers.

Include the fact that Maye has two games in which he essentially did not play.

Comparing them is a waste of time. I personally wouldn't be leaving a trail of evidence sinking for Daniels over Maye over a couple playoff games in their rookie season.

It's not a diss on Daniels. He's been pretty good.

Like to see what he's look like with Polk and Pop Douglas and this coaching staff all season.

I'm guessing I know exactly what he'd look like.
If you prorate the volume stats... Daniels is still ahead lol. Like you don't even need to prorate them. The per game and per average stats are right there to tell you. And then he's way ahead in passer ratings. He is way ahead in QBR. He is solidly ahead any advanced analytic you can throw out there.

It's a waste of time because this isn't even a discussion. One guys is in the discussion for ROY and in the discussion for being a top 10 QB this year and one guy simply isn't. One guy is a work in progress and one guy has something on his resume. It doesn't matter if things change down the line once we see if Maye's potential pans out or Daniels can sustain this. We are talking about right now.

Drake will be very good...but he does not possess the wide range of skill Daniels has. Daniels is an elite runner, Maye is not. Daniels has elite accuracy at all levels, Maye does not. Daniels is clutch, Maye has yet to prove that,

So....as good as Daniels? I do not think so. Hope I am proven wrong

So Drake isn't as good as Daniel's cause he can't run as well as Daniel's? Running as a QB is a niche anyway. It's not something I'm worried about. Clutch? If you're not willing to say that Daniels would of dragged this Patriots roster to the playoffs then why hold it against Drake?

Well that I agree with.

There is no discussion. You literally can't compare them. Drake was great. Sorry man, giving Drake 6 more games to make up the 1200 yards in the air and 10 tds difference feels like it's more than plausible.

Drake doesn't need to be better this year. He needs to be better than Jayden was this year in two years.

He will be.

He has less yards per game and TD's per game. You keep saying "prorate" the stats, he comes up short when you do that.

Again if you want to say you like Drake's potential, we can agree on that. But let's be real, Daniels had the clearly better year. To say otherwise and just give Maye a bunch of handicaps because of his team when one guy had an outstanding year is silly. At that point you might as well say we can't call Lamar Jackson better than Maye.

But right now is there one thing Maye has done this year that you can straight up say he's done better than Daniels in any measurable way. We don't need to talk about results based off team quality. Is he faster? Is he more accurate? Is he making better decisions? Like what is it?

Is there a reason your debating comparable numbers? I did use the word comparable and not better right?

No one is denying Daniels season is better than Mayes. The numbers don't lie.

My argument was that it's useless to compare them right now. You're probably seeing peak Daniel's.

Daniel's is a really good rookie qb. I personally believe that if you simply swapped the two players you would get similar results.

Does Drake currently have the ability to lead a team into Detroit and upset the number 1 seed? No. He does not.

That's where the 3 year age difference and 2 years of extra college come into play.

You consider an 88 vs 100 passer rating comparable?

Yes I hope Maye is better than Daniels is longterm, but right now Daniels earned the nod over all the rookies this year

If you're going to ignore all the context then that's on you.

Drake doesn't even have a single NFL caliber receiver. It's a wonder he even broke the '80s for a passer rating at all.

Pretty much going on their college performance,
Their college performance just mirrors their NFL performance.

Daniels had Nabers and Brian Thomas junior to throw to and a competent OL. Drake had no one and was forced into trying heroics during games to try to win. Sound familiar?

I seriously don't understand how people can think that 3 more years college experience, coaching, age and maturity doesn't make a huge difference.

Maybe Daniels will end up being the best in the end but there is no comparison to be had now.

Just watched the Chiehs Texans replay after work. Two critical roughing the passer calls against texans that even the announcers said were bogus allowing the chiefs to continue their drives.

Dan Campbell is a man. Heck of a leader…that said…he’s right. For whatever reason today they weren’t ready.

Can’t help but wonder if BOTH coordinators interviewing hurt em.

That, and Goff had some catastrophic mistakes.

And…at this moment…Daniels is better than Maye objectively.

BUT…he has good weapons and Kliff Kingsbury as his OC.

Get Drake a scary terry, ekler, better line, and a great OC and I suspect he’s equal or better.

Now…Daniels running…

I’m telling ya right now that dude is gonna get severely injured ala RG3 eventually.

Too slight to keep that **** up.

Watching Brady on the Lions/Redskins broadcast. Damn I miss him. What a waste old age is. Such a winning character in all facets is Brady.I miss the dynasty--the domination--- and when in doubt, the improbable wins each week. We were like perpetually disrespected underdogs if I remember correctly, werent we ? with the no-name players BB used so brilliantly? We kept winning and earned the grudging respect of everybody after so many championships, but the media were able to stamp an unjust asterisk on it. Hopefully Vrabel and Maye revive a new dynasty and I think they will! I predict the Patriots come roaring back as a force to be reckoned with! Here we come NFL!!!

Glenn didn’t have his defense prepared that’s for sure.

And that's just looking at the numbers. One guy has 1 win and one guy has 12 plus a playoff win.
12 regular season wins, plus 2 playoff wins. Tonight was Daniels’ second playoff win. Last week Washington won their wild card game to get to this round.

I think it was during the post game Late Hits broadcast on Sirius one of the announcers commented it’s no longer necessary to call him a rookie because he’s past that stage of his career. I would agree, except it’s appropriate as a reminder that he hasn’t yet finished his first year in the NFL.
