NFL coaching and executives carousel: news and speculation

At this point he's the GM in every in every sense exception BB gets final say on the roster. He also coaches on the field and and has a direct line to Josh from the booth on game days.

So his role with the Pats is a lot more than simply running the personnel department. He would be a huge catch for any team.

And that is what has separated Caserio from almost every other GM in the nfl- the fact he also COACHES.
He brings a lot to the table. Even Pats fans underrate what he does.

After being fired from the Colts, I thought Caldwell would be a disaster in Detroit. He hasn't made them a division winner, but he's gotten the Lions to the playoffs twice and has been, as you said, solid. I'm not saying he's great, but a team could do a lot worse. At a minimum, Caldwell's performance in Detroit is more evidence of the tank job the 2011 Colts pulled.
Caldwell has the best winning %age for a DET coach post-merger.

Pagano officially gone.

End of a fun era, getting to face his incompetence.

I'm not attacking or defending Pagano as a head coach, but he wasn't getting any help from his GM or on the injury front. It's the breaks of the game, but I think we oversell his incompetence.

From earlier today:

Broncos’ HC Vance Joseph faces increasingly longer odds at being retained and returning for his second season in Denver, league sources tell ESPN.

He was with the Colts for 6 years.
Time is flying.

Luck being hurt and the previous GM being a fail didn't help him.

While that is true, the man made some terrible in game situational decisions.

Can’t ever forget his fake punt decision against us a couple seasons ago.

That wasn't on the head coach, though he has ultimate responsibility.

That one reads like ownership telling the new GM to "give it a year, and see what you think then."
Jackson being brought makes sense. There will be a new front office looking for more high picks (after having #1 and #4 this upcoming draft) and Jackson's pedigree can guarantee another top pick.

Pig Guano...gone...scumbag should have been decapitated 2 years ago

Hue Jackson is the ML Carr of the NFL.

The point is to illustrate how pathetic DET has been for decades.
I hear you. But, I just find that some people play to “Be decent” which I can’t understand.
