2014 Gauntlet was at Ind, Det, at GB, at SD...3/4 made the playoffs and all finished above .500 and all had winning records at the time the Pats played them...the 2014 team had faced adversity aft the KC game. That adversity prepped the team for that 4 game stretch...I felt better about the 14 team going into that 4 game stretch than I do about this team...the 14 team had a great offense, Brady at top of his game, and much more passing game options - Edeelman, Lafell, Amendola, Wright, Vereen, Gronkowski...and they could also win on defense (7 pts in afc title game)...Pat's would do well to come out 2-2 and stand at 10-3 w 3 games left

Disagree strongly. Pats will be prepared for Ravens offense. Nobody makes better adjustments than NE. Whereas Ravens offense is not capable of changing what they do to counteract BBs moves. Jackson is who he is. He's not going to suddenly morph into TB.
On offense, Wynn will be back, Sanu will be here for more than just a game and JE and Dorsett hopefully not as banged up as they were.
One more minor detail: IF Ravens get that far, game is at Gillette.
Patriots will crush the squawking Crows.

Guessing 3-1 which puts them in line for 1 seed which is really all that matters. Even 2-2 will likely get them the 1 seed as long as they take care of business against the Bills.

The softness of the run D and inability to run the ball well are legitimate concerns. I think the run defense will be OK, because the secondary is so strong the Pats can cheat a bit, but Wynn has to get on the field and stay on the field.

And it’s time for the Pats to get over this inability to incorporate a rookie receiver quickly. Meyers could help more now. And they should try to make Harry a PRIORITY, not just an afterthought who gets two targets and if one play doesn’t go well he gets sneered at by Brady and forgotten about for the rest of the game.

The Pats have some aspect of both offense and defense exposed as a vulnerability every year by some team. More often than not, the coaching staff knows exactly what to do and solves the problem. In some years, they simply don't have the players to do so.

This year, on defense, I'd wager that they figure out the vulnerability to the run. On offense, I'm not so confident. Lots of injured players coming back to form after the break will help, but the margin for error (such as another injury) is very thin.

Hard to predict. Need Wynn to come back healthy and ready to go. This running game misses Gronkowski’s blocking. It was an area we all thought was gonna peak this year after last years success. It went backwards with the departure of Trent Brown and Gronkowski. Hopefully with Wynn back soon, Scar and the players can come up with a formula the rest of the way.

Cautiously optimistic that 3-1 or 4-0 is attainable, but they’d have to play some really good football and players would have to step up like Wynn, Harry and Michel. If not could easily see 2-2. 1-3, 0-4 would be a disaster.

Only the Chiefs have a shot if Mahomes is healthy. 4-0, 3-1 if the Chiefs play a nearly perfect football game. They’re better than every team left on their schedule and only the Chiefs are close.

Pats were outcoached in the 1Q of the Ravens game. Not happening again anytime soon.

Don’t be fooled into overvaluing the last game.

I am fine with Brady passing to Edelman, Sanu, Dorsett, and White.

These are, and should be, Brady's targets for the vast majority of passes. Ans yes, a TE needs to be on the field, and will get some receptions. If LeCosse can get healthy, we will have 2 TE's with a significant role. The rest of the RB's will get some receptions in their roles.

So, for me, there is some role for our #4 WR. The 5th should only be active if he is the PR, or if someone is injured.

And YES, I expect Harry to be eventually be a starter.

I don't get this paragraph. Meyers is having a good year relatively to where he was drafted and being a rookie. He is getting the ball more than enough.

The Baltimore game was clearly a deliberate decision to go up tempo through the entire game only changing the backs which all are flexible enough to run, pass and catch (with varying degrees of competence at each of that). They clearly didn't want to replace Dorsett with Meyers and then be stuck with him and his limited route tree through multiple plays. Apart from that gameplan specific inactivity Meyers has had a good season so far.

I agree that the expectations for Harry should be higher than for most other drafted skill players given where he was picked. This should hopefully correlate with the amount of things he will be able to do and his role for the rest of the year.

It's a matter of arithmetic. If we are
    80% against PHI
    80% against DAL
    80% against HOU
    100% against BUF
    100% against CIN
    100% against MIA

we are still 50-50 to lose one of those games. I think that a couple of these percentages are a bit high, so for me, we are likely to lose at least one of these games.

And yes, it could be all about KC, whether they win out against others, whether they beat us, and even then, whether they win their first playoff game.

I think Harry has more upside than Dorsett, and it will be pretty sad if he doesn’t. And I think they should try to tap into that upside sooner rather than later.

I think he has the ability to bring more to the table, regardless of where he was drafted.

I agree with the Harry/Dorsett angle. That being said I would not be surprised if it will take a while until Harry is the preferred choice over Dorsett in no huddle situations like against the Ravens.

Also it will take some time for him to grow his slice of the offense. He will start with routes and concepts he absorbs easiest and is best suited for. And then this selection of plays will grow and grow each week.

Apart from that I think Harry will steal some reps from both Dorsett and Meyers when it comes to certain routes. Dorsett will be a goner this offseason and Meyers -- with an entire season + a second offseason -- will take over as the dependable depth piece.

1-3. Losses in every game except Dallas. I see 11-5 and playing on Wild Card Weekend.
