At the NFL annual meeting this morning, BB was asked what he thinks about changing the tuck rule. His response ... wait for it! ... "The rules are what they are." :rocker::rocker::rocker:

He then expounded eek saying the tuck rule helped New England beat Oakland in the snow bowl but also caused them a loss to the Jets that year.

I'm glad he actually stated that about the Jets game loss. I was at that game right after the 9/11 hiatus with Andruzzi's NYFD brothers and jets flying overhead. I became totally disgusted when Bledsoe tossed a mindless pick to Jets' LB Farrior with no Patriot anywhere near him. Close game. Pats sack Vinnie and recover a Testaverde fumble! But then the refs declared it was an incomplete pass. I was livid and had no idea while sitting in the stands that they were invoking the Tuck Rule until much later reading an analysis.

Wow, didn't expect so much detail from BB

I liked Krafts comments on it yesterday.

He said he might have to abstain from the vote due to his bias. Then said that he didnt mind if it were changed but that he would always like it.

He went on to say that Al Davis is probably smiling somewhere. And told a story of a picture of the play that hangs in his office from Jon Gruden Signed it was a fumble.

He said someday he might sell it for the Patriot Charity. What an awesome piece that would be for someones collection.

Awesome indeed.

I'm smiling.

Good now all the haters can say yet again the league changed the rules because of the Pats. Only 11 years later.

It's almost as famous as Bobby Orr's Goal !!
