BB
If this is really what's happening, then the old man is losing it. He's overly focused on rules, not enough on results. That's not uncommon with aging.
BB came up under Parcells, And it always appeared to me he tried to emulate Parcells. Going back to negotiating becoming the HC here.. he supposedly wouldn't take the job without being able to shop for the groceries like Parcells famously said. So as your perfectly said he's focused on rules and his way.

BB is a very cerebral and intuitive man. I'm sure he of all people have to know this current generation of players you can't enforce, and handle them the way the 1st champ era was handled.. most of those greats were Parcells guys and locker room enforcers. As a fan I'm just trying to look positive towards 2023..

Mac has to have a great season and lead this team!

I wonder how much BB is ticked off because Mac went outside the building instead of coming to him?

I don't know if Jones didn't come to Belichick first. Nowhere has it been said that he never went to Belichick. He could have gone to Belichick and Belichick could have sided with his coaches.

For all we know, that source is the food service guy again.

I have more respect of Phil Perry to believe he used low level employees who do not know anything about the situation for sources. That said, I wouldn't put it past some of these sources having an ax to grind especially the people no longer with the team (Meyers, Harris, or Smith possibly).

Another issue as the herald reported was that Judge was the QBs coach and that he, and Mac had a terrible relationship. It's telling that Judge is still with this organization, actually given a new role . (All be it on the Giants dime still.)

However that's a clear sign of BBs loyalty to his guys. Clearly Mac couldn't get anywhere by going to Judge or Patricia.

So he likely felt going to his Bama coaches was his last resort. Just my theory..

Judge wasn't only given a new role, but he was given a promotion at least in title.

And there were reports that Jones and Hoyer had to teach Judge and Patricia the offense. How can you be coached by a guy who knows less about your position than you do? And by the reports, Judges thought he knew more than everyone else about everything.

Oh for cripessakes no he wasn't...

He is getting paid by the Lions, for him to retain that salary the Pats had to give him an honorary title signifying nothing. They're not even paying him, the Lions are. The Pats get what amounts to a free coach out of the deal.

He is the assistant head coach. That is a promotion in title. I don't think an assistant head coach has a lot more power or responsibility than any other position coach, but it is a title given as an honor. The last two coaches that had that title on this team were Scar and Belichick himself. When Belichick was brought in in 1996, he was given the defensive backs coach and assistant head coach titles and he basically helped Al Groh bring the defense to the next level.

EDIT: Who cares who is paying his salary? He still went from just a position coach to assistant head coach. He could have easily just stayed a position coach.

You mean the Giants. Not nitpicking, I just want it to be clear for everyone's amusement John 'Prune Juice' Mara is paying BB's guy

Hey at least they’re paying him while he helps plummet the patriots! Jokes on them!

Enough of this pointless nonsense designed to get clicks and fill up the deadest spot in the NFL calendar. It's high time for someone to fabricate some other pointless nonsense designed to drive those clicks.
If not that, at least post some pictures of Lily!

Which again points out all we know of BB being "pissed" comes from Chris ****ing Sims.

Mac was wrong, but BB needs to look in the mirror and accept his role in all of this as well

I find it very difficult to believe that they're acting like a couple of teenage girls about this. BB is all about turning the page and moving forward, so I just find it almost impossible to believe he's still emotionally upset at Mac for something that happened last year.

If BB is still emotionally upset and its impacting their preparations for the upcoming season... then that would be pretty wild, and Kraft would have to really think about making some drastic changes, because the Patriots at that point would become the new NY Jete dumpster fire organization where we make headlines around our dysfunction and not our successes

I've read the quotes and they read as if they're from someone who isn't in the inner circle, isn't a confidant of Bill's, because the person doesn't address the core issue, if the Simms/Florio plot line is true or not. They aren't adding anything to the picture, IMO. To me they do come across as a media member trying hard to keep this story alive as it fades into the noise. Perry would have been better off not trying to make a meal out of such scraps, but he too has airwaves to fill.

Or (a) it didn't happen at all or (b) Simms greatly exaggerated what did happen and its impact just to fill some airwaves.

I'm wondering why everyone seemingly is missing the most IMPORTANT information in the article. It has NOTHING to do with the drama, or sources, or various narratives, but a simple fact. Mac and Zappe have been going to Gillette DAILY to work with BOB and his staff on THIS year's offense.

EVERY other thing from this article is supposition, from a story about LAST year. What is important here is, it is good to know that Mac is going in DAILY to work with BOB on what they will be doing THIS year. And I guess that at this time of year all the work he and Zappe are doing is VOLUNTARY.

So you have two choices. You can follow the continuing clickbait drama about who said what to whom from LAST year, or take the key FACT that Mac is busy working with BOB on THIS year.

Belichick will be consistent. Play the player who he thinks will give him best chance to win.
If Jones was in SF, would he be automatic as a Starter, over last pick in the Draft?
He didn't do that last year ie... Bourne in the dog house most of last year.

Naw, it's more fun to believe BB and Mac are like schoolgirls and prefer to pout and hold grudges than to actually work things out and get to work on things that will help both of their careers, like, ya know, improving the offense. That kind of stuff doesn't create clicks, so who cares.
