The defense is far ahead of the offense. The offense is not good, to the point where the d needs to shut itself down so the O can finish it out. That's ominous imo. A foretelling of a rough road ahead this year.
I don't want the offense to fail. Far from it. I want Drake Maye to work on his short comings to position himself for success. If it takes him a full year to get right, then so be it. Same goes with the rest of the O. But I'm also not going to bury my head in the sand and ignore what's actually being said about what's actually happening on the practice field. That's not wanting tem to fail. It's a recognition that the rookie QB and the new O are a work in progress.
We are at the beginning of a marathon, and a bunch of people are pushing this like it's a sprint.
