NEW ARTICLE: Loss to Brady Leaves Mahomes Stunned, "It Hurts a Lot"

I disagree. If anyone laid eggs it was KCs coaching staff.

Mahomes did everything he could possibly do, including pulling magic tricks out of his ass, to win that game.

Tampa's Defense had a Field day with that swiss cheese Oline.
He is a very young player still. Brady would have audibled to runs vs that defense and hit his check downs. Mahomes will learn eventually.

Honestly Mahomes is very lucky those crazy throws didn't end up in more INTs. He was throwing to guys double and triple covered. With 5 INTs his rating would've been in the teens and he still would've gotten people being in awe for his "amazing throws." Guy laid an egg on the biggest stage. Suck it Mahomes. Hahaha

He can fight Double Dork and Five Head for TV insurance Commercial salesman of the year.

While I wouldn't put it like that I agree more with this than the national narrative. As mentioned above other QBs have been under siege in big games before but still found ways to be competitive. He had 80 yards going into the 4th where the game was over and he got 200 yards of garbage time. Why was he trying to play in this way. People like the way it looks so they say he gave it his all but the reality is the coaching staff failed and he had no answers at all. He wasn't great in the slightest and I say that understanding he's the best player in the league overall. He'll learn from this but lets not be delusional. He was bad and he is part of the reason they lost. HIs coach failed him though. He's a young kid and they should of been adding protection and trying to wear down the pass rush in other ways.

I disagree again. That front seven against that tattered Oline was not going to give up too many rush yards.

The key, imo, would have been Mahomes trying to take advantage of the deep safeties. But that's a coaching adjustment.

So Mahomes, in two Superbowls, has been pretty awful. Not how a future goat is supposed to look like.Screen Shot 2021-02-09 at 8.10.39 PM.png

The stats don’t even show how bad he was through 3 quarters in both games. In the 49ers game, he had 0-2 TD/INT and was on the verge of losing when the combo of Shanahan’s coaching and Jimmy G horrendous 4th quarter performance brought the Chiefs back.

On Sunday, he had 120 yards with 0-1 TD/INT and ended up having tons of garbage yards to Kelce who was open for short gains to drain the clock.

Brady has 21-6 TD/INT in his 10 SB’s.
Mahomes is 2-4 TD/INT in his two.

If we combine their 12 games, the QB rating would be:

Brady #1-9
Mahomes #10
Brady #11(The second Rams SB)
Mahomes #12

Brady’s second worst SB performance out of 10! is better than either of Mahomes’.

Only in this completely crazy and delusional World we live in where people believe the Earth is flat can this guy be in the same solar system as far as greatness is concerned. Whatever sells. Brady had a 500+ yards with 3 TD/no INT in a losing effort with his number one receiver out for the year, his number two receiver knocked out in the first quarter due to running like a headless chicken and his coach benching his second best corner and no one took a pity like they are doing for Mahomes and his incredible incompletions.

Maybe, one day, if he’s lucky he can get close to Montana. Catching Brady in any shape or form? Forget about it.

It is about selling. The media has spent years selling off the Patriots by playing both sides because that way they cater to everything. If KC ever truly becomes dominant the same will happen to them.

I feel like a lot of people are confusing crazy athletic plays from the most physically gifted QB ever with actually playing the QB position well. Mahomes did a lot of the former, but not much of the latter in the SB.

Brady understands this pain very well, having lost 3 of them. He empathizes little buddy!

An OL that was given no help at all (i.e.: 5-man protections only) on 9 out of every 10 drop-backs...Chumley never adjusted by having some of the other five chip the edges...Wonder if he had other things on his mind...

There was a lot talk about about him being the goat soon, and Mahomes proclaiming that he wasn't even trying didn't help matters either. That loss will humble him.

Only he banked 3 before every tasted defeat in the Super Bowl and yet people were already anointing mahomes GOAT before he even got his 2nd.

They did it with Manning (who only finally got his 2nd 10 years after his 1st because he had a great defense, this was after choking 2 SBs away) Then they tried to do it with Rodgers and he's still yet to be back. 10 years since. Brady has been to 6 SBs since Rodgers got to his 1st...... They then tried to do it with Brees with the regular season records and hopes that Saints would get another SB (go look how many mediots picked them the last 3-4 years to be the NFC representative). I mean just think of that for a moment Brady first year in the NFC equaled Rodgers & Brees in SB titles won coming from the NFC. Nuts and now we've just seen Brady beat Brees, Rodgers & Mahomes in order to win his 7th and there will be people that still argue against it.

Here's something people will rarely mention Brady has now twice stopped a team (Seattle & KC) from repeating which is him defending his record as being the last QB to go back to back. ****ing nuts. That's GOAT stuff right there. I don't care if Mahomes can run around and throw it diving sideways. Ya great. Brady has twice played a team looking to be "the first team to win back to back since the '03 & '04 Pats" and said "nah" obviously he held help and it wasn't just him but this is the kind of myth/legendary **** you don't see in a box score or "all-time passing yardage in the regular season" list.

Potential dynasty slayer.

Those people that were saying that can't even use the "Montana defense" now. You know the one that was used against Brady when he finally did win his 4th and even when he won his 5th because Montana went to 4 and never lost, as if losing earlier in the playoffs makes it better than losing in the SB. Joe Montana had 4 one-and-done's in 11 playoffs, , Brady has 3 in 19 playoffs. Montana has 7 losses in 23 playoff games. Brady has 11 losses in 45 playoffs games.

Nope. This loss (and his poor play in both SBs) gets to be used against Mr.Ketchup-on-his-steak just like '07 got used to knock Brady. But looks like the media and all that has their cope for him losing. "Oh he had a bad toe that needed surgery", "OL wasn't at full strength". "Refs", "Chiefs defense" Excuses excuses. Funny thing is I can make an argument with those same points has to why Brady doesn't have 11 SBs right now.

-'07- Brady had a sprained ankle

-'06- Refs screwing the Pats in the AFCC

-'11- Gronk injured. Defense wasn't good

-'17- Defense played bad. OL wasn't full strength. Refs.

Great post.

Mahomes lost 2 playoff games, both were to Tom Brady. Chiefs nation must be livid.
same as 30 other teams.

2015-16 AFCC as well. Could easily be 12/12 by now.
