NEW ARTICLE: Brady Proved on Sunday the Patriots Gave Up On Him Too Soon

The ignore thread option exists, chief. The vast majority of people want to discuss it. This includes you since you’re an active participant in these threads. So, having said that, you have three options here: 1) Ignore these threads; 2) Don’t ignore them and don’t participate in them either; and/or 3) Stop b.itching if you’re going to participate in these threads.

Additionally, you can always find another Pats forum to peruse. PatsPlanet is great if you ignore their 2003 software and porn pop-ups. But I think you’re going to run into this “problem” no matter where you go.

Those pop-ups ... quality? Or just recycled garbage?

Asking for a friend.

I see they still have their Girlie Pic thread going two decades and counting. Of course I just read it for the comments!

The funny thing is I never said anything bad against Brady, never ripped him for leaving, never said he sucked or had lost it. I cautioned people early on when he was doing great that he was a 43 year old qb who had a good chance of getting hurt or at least having to play through nagging injuries like he had the past 3 or 4 years and I was called all sorts of names for doubting him. Of course when he struggled midway through the season many of those same people were saying the exact same thing. I never went there to gloat, if healthy Tom will win.

As I have said all along, Tom is the greatest QB ever to have played. In a few years I think he will regret not being able to make it work here and being able to retire as a Patriot, but who knows. I also have no issues at all with him leaving, it is his money, his job, his life, I never get upset when players decide to leave. But when he decided to leave he left. This is the Patsfan forum, not the Tom Brady or Tampa Bay forum, there is an nfl forum for other teams.

Finally, I really dislike KC and while I am pretty sure they will win Sunday, I hope Tampa does.

Yeah, you absolutely ****ing murdered it on the predictions...

That was what I was replying to, not some feel good, I am so glad Tom is doing well post. Posts by some of the moronic posters in this thread who think the Bucs are superbowl bound and the best team, without beating anyone, in the NFC, and that there is no way Tom will get hurt and anyone who brings it up is a big meanie and hates Tom and is awful... Boo ****ing hoo
I guess the Saints whooped your teams ass, probably more likely to go to the superbowl, although they also have a really old qb, hopefully he won't be dinged up by season's end.

Saying you’re a “laundry guy,” then hoping for Brees to remain healthy so you can root for him over the QB that won your supposed favorite team 6 Super Bowls makes zero sense. If you’re such a laundry guy, why are you rooting for the Saints? Anyway, I digress.

He was hurt for 1/2 the season last year and Brady was never great with rookie receivers. Come on man you are better than this, go back over to the Tampa forum if that is all you have.

Brady then proceeds to throw to Johnson in some big time spots. Woof.

I am sure Ian does appreciate your donations to this site. When you called me out on it, I almost donated, which I have in the past, but then decided against it, and I won't until the Tompa thread is off the main page.

Maybe you should quit participating in those threads, then. Even so, you should still cough up $50 before trying to tell the owner of the board what to do. I understand it’s 50 less packages of Ramen Noodles you can’t feed your family in the midst of being snowed in for months, but it’s still a worthwhile investment.

Kontra you gotta get a life man.

After 3 games, you, 203, and AM were crowning the Bucs superbowl champions, when I said you should wait for the season to unfold you got all upset I was dissing your BFF Tom.

I correctly pointed out that while Breeze kicked your team's ass, I also pointed out that he was old and subject to injuries, just like Brady, so I wouldn't be sure he could keep it up all season, which Breezey couldn't.

Finally when saying it was premature to throw away Harry based on 1/2 a season with Tom, who usually takes a while to build a relationship with a young receiver especially one who had missed part of preseason along with over 1/2 the regular season. You tried to call me out when Tom made a td pass to a rookie who had been on the team all year in the playoffs.

Have one already. Thanks. You can feel free to ask Ian or Ashley, among others, who have seen pics of the new addition. In any event, I’m 34 and can basically guarantee that my life is better than some middle aged guy crying about posts on a message board on top of “i UsEd To ReSpEcT u.” The Bucs also aren’t my team. Again, the irony is not lost on me. I joined here before you did and have contributed thousands of more posts than you have. Some quality, some ****posting. Get over it. If anyone should be questioning anyone else’s fandom, it’ll be the other way around. Moreover, you said “hopefully” he wouldn’t get hurt and then, hilariously, said they had a better chance of making the Super Bowl. Wrong. As usual. But the “hopefully” part is the most telling there. You, a so-called “laundry guy” was pulling for another team. So that excuse no longer holds water.

Re: your half-assed defense of you blaming Brady for Harry sucking, I can see you’re already walking back your take. Your contention was, and I quote, “Brady doesn’t throw to rookies.” I then named rookies that were on this team who Brady threw to without a problem, including Meyers. You threw your usual temper tantrum and rejected those examples. So I give you Johnson - a rookie in spot duty all season who Tom threw to in some clutch, high pressure situations. Difference between him and Harry is Harry isn’t an NFL-caliber X, Y, or Z and Johnson looks like he is. We could have had him too, but your Golden idol and wet dream, Bill, decided to use that pick on a practice squad kicker. Oh well.

Look,I love Brady as much as anyone did and still do, but lets face it - no one but Jesus himself could have taken this team with a core of embarrassing pieces of garbage for wide receivers/tight ends and made it even to the playoffs and Brady knew this - the rebuilding phase is beginning because Belichick has failed on offense in the draft and Kraft is too cheap to sign anyone decent and afraid of overspending - while Kraft being cheap and signing crap worked in the past it was only because Brady could make garbage smell better but now that is no longer an option - spend up,draft better or the Jets might even leapfrog over our team in the east soon - I am one of the handful in here who was old enough as a Pats diehard to experience the early 90s of futility and we might again do that unless offseason moves improve dramatically and quickly.

Congrats on the baby. Enjoy them when they are young, it goes by fast. I have a kids more or less your age and a couple teen agers. I stopped following the Brady tribute thread because you and maybe one or two other posters were the only ones who made any contributions, and honestly it was young guys like you who grew up idolizing Tom Brady who don't really understand where some of us are coming from.

Thanks. But I grew up watching Bledsoe throw to Jefferson and Glenn and being heartbroken when Edwards destroyed his knee on the beach. I was in high school by the time we were winning Super Bowls.

I still think of high school as pretty young. You will soon too.

I already kind of do. Coming up on the 20 year reunion, which of course I will not be attending, because I decided to move out of that small pond and don’t care to see most of those people again. But I digress. Congrats on your clan as well. Hopefully the kids were smart enough to get the hell out of there before Maine turned into Antarctica. ;)

Also, please take note on how congenial I am when you address me with the same respect you would expect in return.

Tom's not as salty as the fanboys...

"I certainly could never have accomplished the thing in my career without his support and his teachings. Incredible coach and mentor for me," Brady said of Belichick. "I've had a lot of those in my career, but obviously, he's at the top of the list."

Brady's gone because the Patriots went all in from 2014-2019, cap debt prevented them from continuing the ride while still being successful. The Rams have gone all in, overpaid even, and have zero rings to show for it... but let's see what they can do.

Just the anecdotal evidence that people have been saying for a while now, with no real hard evidence.

Right. And it is an echo chamber of someone's conjecture based on a few observations and disappointments. The whole thing has been Comet Pizza'd.

Noticed the typo, fixed it for ya...You're welcome.

Imagine being a so-called Patriot fan and using the term “Brady fanboy” as a derogatory slur. You must not be from the area. Where are you from? Newton, Iowa?

Brady had a great year but he also is playing on a stacked team.
Does anyone believe Brady would have had that type of year on this team?
What's the point? We've had to defend that argument from other fan bases for 20 years......What if Brady played for some suck azz team? What would any great do if they had to play for a bad team? Ask Archie Manning.I mean who would have a Superbowl season with the 2020 Patriots?

My hero

Imagine being a so-called Patriot fan and using the term “Brady fanboy” as a derogatory slur. You must not be from the area. Where are you from? Newton, Iowa?
There's nothing objective or even knowledgeable in thinking one player in the ultimate team sport, no matter how good, was the reason for 20 years of winning and 6 rings. And to say instantly they suck now in an obvious reload season, that the architect of those winning teams sucks or mismanaged a run of three rings in four appearances so their sacred cow could get to be called the GOAT is hilariously misguided, entitled and childish.

From 2014-2019 the Patriots had one of the best defenses in the league, some of the best special teams in the league, some of the best O-Lines in the league... and let's face it some good weapons. If one judges "going all in to win" solely as overpaying superweapons without acknowledging the top flight defenses which ensured many of those Super Bowl wins (Rams Super Bowl... anyone?) then you're not being objective... you're a Brady/QB fanboy, who frankly doesn't understand the game as well as one should or needs to in order to speak intelligently on the subject.

Sorry if that's harsh, but it's the truth... I slam Bill regularly for draft picks, game decisions and free agent signings... all the time. But we're talking about a subsection of the fanbase who couldn't admit when Tom threw a single bad pass, or made an error in judgement like endorsing Guerrero's quack cure-alls for cancer/concussions, or pouting about AB being cut when the league was clearly going to suspend him anyway... with pay!

There is no pro-Belichick crowd that rubber-stamps his every move, it doesn't exist. There is clearly a band of Brady zealots who think because BB released him to handpick a superteam... somehow that makes Tom the winner of a competition that doesn't exist except in the mind of the fanboys and media shills exploiting their emotions. These people are making it impossible for rational Patriot and Brady fans to enjoy this Super Bowl quest he's on... the whining, moaning, hyperbolic outbursts and anti-Patriot/BB rants are insufferable.

2020 was clearly a reloading year for the Patriots, a year to reset the cap... before the last game of this season has even been played, to spell the doom of the Patriots going forward is dumb.

Many of these same people said we had "no talent," were "old and slow" in midseason from 2014-2018, they said defenses ranked #1 in fewest points allowed weren't good... forgive me if I don't consider these fanboys "objective."
