Seems like yesterday. Prayers and best wishes to those who lost family and/or friends in NY, PA or DC.

+1. A sad, sad day. Over 10,000 kids lost a parent that day.

God bless them, pray for sanity and humanity for all of us sharing this world

AMEN!!! ... appreciate the thoughts

(no direct relatives but high school acquaintances ... prayers to their families)

It really does feel like it only happened a few years ago. I couldn't believe it when on Mike and Mike this morning they said, "for those of us who remember it" and I couldn't believe that there are people who DON't remember it. Like my son who hadn't even been born yet. Just so strange to think about.

I was n 6th grade when this happened. Seems just like yesterday.

12 years ago, I, along with all of my Phi Gamma Pi brothers from Northeastern University, lost one of our own at Tower Two of the World Trade Center.

John C. Henwood, Cantor Fitzgerald, left behind a wife and two children, along with all of his friends.

We will never forget. God Bless You John....

I was in second grade at the time, yesterday was the first day of my Firefighter I class through the Rhode Island Fire Academy.

It seems like it happened yesterday

Some nightmares never go away, our hearts and brains remind us of the lost and their families that still suffer today.

God Bless America...

It seems like it happened yesterday

Some nightmares never go away, our heart and brain will always remind us of the lost and their families that still suffer today with tragic memories of the loved and innocent american people who died at the hands of a ruthless evil madman's order.

God Bless America...

I will be in New York City next Saturday September 21st for the first time since the attacks and I will be sure to visit the memorial.

Thinking today of all the people who lost their lives 12 years ago today, and their family and friends. God bless.

When I first saw it on tv, I thought it was a movie. Turned out to be the news. May this never happen again and my we be blessed with peace going forward.

We were at work in Boston. There were folks on the phone with those in the tower when the attack came. There is nothing that could (or should) ever erase the few minutes that followed as we shared and watched the television (before we were evacuated).

May God bless all those with family members and friends who lost their lives that day.

And may God bless those who served the dead and the injured.

The world changed for the US that day.

Never forget also how fortunate we are that domestic attacks on civilians are incredibly rare and that they are a daily reality in many countries around the world.

It's been 12 years since 2,977 people lost their lives at the World Trade Center, Pentagon and on United Flight 93. But the death toll didn't stop there. There have been hundred (if not thousands) of first responders in NYC and in Washington DC who have died of illnesses related to that tragic day.

Our whole country was affected that day and it's a day that should never be forgotten. Not by US. Not by our children. Not by our Children's children. We must work to end the hatred/jealousy against our country..

My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones. Being a native NYer (was living in San Francisco at the time), it will always be the worst day ever. On Sept 2nd 2001, I had just come back to NY to attend a wedding that was a wedding cruise, that was all the way downtown NY. The husband and wife lived in Tribecca. Anyway, my exwife and I took some amazing pictures of downtown NY, including a dozen or so of the WTC. Who knew, 9 days later they'd be destroyed and almost 3,000 people lost their lives in the towers (as well as in DC and Pennsylvania).

Also, in my career I worked mostly near Wall Street for 14 years, my train went through WTC thousands of times in my career. I can still see the 1st floor with all of the shops and restauraunts in my head. What a horrendous day for everyone.

NY certainly showed a ton of strength and character right after the attacks, what an incredibly strong city, I'm proud to be a NYer and an American.

I don't think you can truly understand that type of grief until it's personal. I was greatly affected by 911 but now more than the tragedy I think of the message boards and families frantically searching and holding out hope that that loved ones would miraculously appear out of the carnage. My thoughts and prayers to those still affected daily to their core.
