To anyone who is out there, can you please tell me what exactly happens prior to the start of practice, which is slated to being at 2:20pm? Will the Pats be on the practice field prior to going head to head with the Bucs?

Reason I’m asking is that I’m planning on swinging by tomorrow and watch it, but can’t stay for the full 2+ hours. I can show up well before 2:20 and watch the Pats if they’re out there, otherwise, looks like I won’t have more than 20-30 minutes to watch because I need to be back in Stamford CT( ~ 3 hr. drive) by 6pm… bummer

Thanks in advance

I thought the joint practices start tomorrow

I believe joint practice will be held starting tomorrow and continue Wednesday and Thursday. Pats will be practicing by themselves today.

Oops, sorry, I misread the schedule page on the Pats website...

But my question stands, and is valid for a Pats-only practice as well....

Does practice start right on the dot? What happens at 2:20... do they start stretching and fooling around at 2:20, or is the warm-up and stretching part are done prior to 2:20, and actual scrimmage drills (7x7 | 11x11) begin at 2:20?

Thanks

This is not going to be good new for you but there really is nothing going on prior to the scheduled start other than patriots experience/bounce house things for the kids.

And even worse Practice starts with a walk through followed by warm ups which are 15-30 minutes. At a Joint practice this will likely be done by each team on seperate fields.

After warm ups they break down into position drills and start to ramp up but even still the best stuff isnt until the end. I would imagine some of these position drills could be done as a team and some in competive situautions vs the Bucs.

Bottom line is unfortunately with your time frame you wont see much.

If it makes you feel better I cant make tomorrow either but will be there for the whole thing on Wed.

Bummer

Thanks for the info - very appreciated!

By the way, from today's practice:

Derek Havens ?@PatriotsHaven 14m

Ras-I Dowling, Alfonso Dennard and Michael Jenkins all on the field for today's practice. #Patriots

EDIT: Ryan Mallett back on the field too.

Just as important are Connoly and Cannon. Any word on those linemen?

With inclement weather in the forecast, the Patriots have moved today's joint practice with the Buccaneers to 11 a.m. ET.
