Ndamukong Suh fined $30K

I actually think the history that a player develops in the league does become part of the thinking as far as how much and how often he is fined. If the league is going to do that it should do it with some structure. Maybe something like three finable offenses and your fines are doubled thereafter turning a standard $15,000 fine into a $30,000 fine. They stay that way until you have no finable offenses for a specific length of time. So for example if you can go a whole season without a finable offense then you back to standard fines.

But the whole thing is becoming a quagmire because Goddell looks like he is all over the map, mainly I think because he is trying to punish repeat offenders but without any structure.

So, they can't figure out intent, but they'll fine the guy $30k, just in case. Once again, the stupidity of the NFL discipline policy is on display...

I personally think the fine is ridiculous as it was a pure fluke Suh connected with Shaub the way he did.

$30k is just absurd the problem is Suh is such a thug plus he seems to have no PR know how. he just needed to get up infront of the media and say some of the things posters here have said.

- You can't determine that i meant that so how can you fine me
- I am falling not looking and in no control of my body it was a fluke how i connected with Shuab
- I am appealing this fine because i want to standup to the NFL as i have made mistakes in the past but i won't be prosecuted like this for something that i didn't do

Instead the headline reads... Suh won't apologize for low hit on Shaub.

Cuz' It's always nice to know how to put a good spin on a "fluke"

Guilty. Suh is not fit for sharing this planet with humans. IMO, but of course I could be wrong :nooo:

I don't think he is, LOL, I think he just keeps us around for food.

What I dont get is why did they Refs keep him in the game, and kick out our Bunkley ?

Boone was holding W. Smiths leg, and wouldn't let it go minutes after the play. So, Bunkley reached down to pull his hands away, and Boone took a swipe at him, so Bunkley kicked his helmet. Well more like a love tap or a light S&M thing, lol.
But Suh gets a slap on the wrist for his ninja like, lion paw gonad attack. I bet no QB forgets their cup vs the lions from now on.

suh is a dirty player. since it is unclear if there was intent or not, thats why he's getting fined and not suspended. but it still looks fishy. you do have to take a player's past history into account, and with what suh has done so far, he has lost all benefit of doubt.

Just like OJ had to pay millions financially even though he was found not guilty.

..and I'm not saying this to disprove your point. I agree with you. While I think both were guilty both of the end results are head scratchers. The justice system in life is consistently inconsistent.

Watch the leg in the video. It does not continue downward, but goes for the groin. If he is falling in one direction, his momentum will continue to take all his body parts in that direction. He doesn't, and he has a pretty good idea where the qb is located.

Suh actually came fairly close to hitting Schaub on the right hand. Imagine what would have happened if the Texans had lost Schaub again because of such a dirty play.

I thought it was clearly intentional, and I question how anyone else wouldn't see it the same way. Suh is as dirty as the day is long, and that sneaky "unintentional" kick is just another example of the lack of character of the guy.

Hopefully, he won't end a career before he gets under control. He's had so many chances from Goody-No-Sack that I'm not that confident that he can ever straighten out. He's a bomb waiting to explode.

We are talking about the best athletes in the world.

I think its very possible that they are more in control of their bodies and aware of potential injury causing contact than the doubters realise.

If Suh's body had been more in line with Shaub when he was blocked low he easily could have added an extra body roll towards Shaub that would have him rolling into Shaub's lower legs and knees. Weve seen him and other rushers do this very extra-momentum roll in almost every game. Rushers know they can get away with this because of the inherent benefit of the doubt caused by their having been blocked low / tripped up. Here, Suh kicked out with the only body part that could make contact with Shaub as he rolled by. Its very similiar in my mind as the extra-roll towards the QB move.

In a televised game with rules in place to protect the ball carriers, players like Suh do what their predecessors used to do more openly, but now they disguise it behind benefit of the doubt kind of contact. Like what we see here. IMO of course.

And obviously, the dirtier the Player the smaller the window he receives when determining benefit of the doubt.

Suh is ridiculously talented to bad he plays in Detroit under Schwartz who is a hot headed idiot himself. I'd love to see the Patriots bring him in because I actually think he is a decent human being who is just extremely immature and competitive in need of someone like BB to coach him and a player like Wilfork to mentor him.

I don't like Suh but I just can't see it on this one. It wasn't intentional and he should of never been fined.
