NBA Draft - Trades - Free Agents

Perfectly said. I am selling them "short."

As presently constituted, this is a perimeter team that will have big problems rebounding and defending the interior. Maybe I am underestimating the crew of Robert Williams, Enes Kanter, Daniel Theis, Vincent Poirier, and Tacko Fall. But none is a proven NBA starter. Kanter is averaging under 24 minutes/game and got shipped out by the Knicks and offered a take-it-now or go deal from the Blazers.

I didn't like the Aron Baynes trade at the time, and I like it less now.
Kanter is one of the best rebounders in the league. I'm not sure you want to base anything on judgements made by the Knicks.

Marcus Camby to the knicks almost a done deal

he outplayed steven adams in the playoffs.........he played as well as can be expected against jokic in the playoffs....the same round that both baynes and horford turned into puddles against the bucks

any data from NYK is garbage.......baynes is a dime a dozen body......you get more rebounds from Kanter than you do from Baynes and Horford combined.......for 5M per and at worst a 2 year commitment. Horford at 33 and 4 years at 110M? are you sh*tting me?

Suns are planning to buyout the partially guaranteed contract of Kyle Korver, league sources tell ESPN. Lakers, Sixers and Bucks are frontrunners to sign Korver once he clears waivers, sources said.

None of that fits the criteria of backing up your claim. It just fits you making lame excuses to dismiss a team that's, as of now, obviously superior to your preferred choice. Horford's aging isn't going to destroy his game this year. Embiid is a better player than anyone the Celtics have, and will be able to rest more this season. Simmons can still impact a game even though he doesn't have the shooting ability that God gave a blind infant.

Oh, and Philly won more games than Boston last year, and got further into the playoffs, taking the Raptors to the very end of game 7 in their series, while Boston was getting ***** slapped by Milwaukee.

Deus, normally you and several of the other posters on this thread read the NBA and Celtic tea leaves pretty well, so I'm surprised that so many of you have missed the obvious for the Celtics and 76ers. Looking between the lines, it is obvious.

Boston has a pile of talented guards and swing men. We are stacked at there 1, 2, and 3. We will probably play one of those swing men (like Tatem) at the 4, and at the 5 it is clearly a work in progress.

Exaggerating a bit, Philly is trying to field a team consisting of two fives (Embiid and Horford) two players that are tall enough to play the 4 (Simmons at 6'10", Harris at 6'9") and a 6'6" swingman who could easily play the 3 (Richardson).

The solution is obvious. Merge the two teams, to form the Boston/Philadelphia SEVENTYCELTICS! In the back court, Kemba Walker, Smart, Brown, Haywood, and Richardson. In the Front Court, Simmons, Harris, Horford, and Embiid.

Remember, you heard it here first! I expect Wojnarowski to be stealing my scoop presently.

Looks like Leonard is heading back to Toronto.

I have mixed feelings because it makes the East harder for the C's, BUT on the other hand, any deal that makes the Lakers and their PR over-hype machine drop ANOTHER deuce at center court, makes me happy

So now LA has all that cap space and no max player to give it to. (If the Toronto reports are correct.)

Golden state really screwed things up with that Russell sign and trade. He was the obvious choice after kawhi.

I think Kawhi will sign for 2 years in Toronto and then go to the Lakers when Lebron leaves.

Nothing is set in stone yet. Jalen Rose doesn't know anything we don't as of right no (7/3 @6:45PM EST).

My preferred Kawhi destinations: Clippers>Lakers>Raptors

Clippers would be very good, but the West is stacked.

Lakers would be an interesting possible dumpster fire.

Raptors would be an obstacle for the Celts to even get a #3 seed, IMO.

You gotta give it to these Northeast teams for knowing how to build half a contender.

I guess Irving was enough drama for now.

If it’s between LAL and Toronto, I Kawhi to sign with the Raptors.

1. Because **** the Lakers
2. It’s kind of interesting to see a top 3 player choosing the Canadian team.

Yeah, that's a terrible decision by the Celtics to just dismiss Cousins out of hand. The Celtics need the help at Center.
If Stevens can handle players, he should be able to handle Cousins, especially because he should be able to learn from last year. And, if Stevens can't handle players, then he doesn't belong in the NBA.

Stevens is good at X's and O's but was bad at managing personalities, young guys not buying in, or coaching veterans to lead

.

If Kawhi signs with the Lakers, then they are the presumed prohibitive favorites with a bunch of teams with a shot to take them out in the playoffs.

If Kawhi signs with Toronto or the Clippers, the NBA has true parity with no clear favorite. 10 or so teams would have a realistic chance at the title.

I'm mildly surprised the NBA is that popular here to go 83 pages.
