title of the thread needs to be clarified:
Myles Garret requests trade to a Super Bowl contender
in other words, not to us.
Changes my take completely. Go get him.

If Myles is serious about wanting to win then he's got to be willing to rip up his contract and work out a longterm deal with whomever.Three words: Dead Cap Hit.
His dead cap money is $36,216,220. The savings is $16,494,100. The Browns are over the cap $30 million. Deshaun's cap is $72,935,000 with $172,734,000 in dead money.
He is going nowhere. I just don't see how the Browns could do it.
Highly agree! I've said personally we need to find some Jarvis green's and ty Warren's.. guys like that.. guys young 25,26 years old that can come here and be here for a while.I don’t think the players they add in free agency need to be All Pro’s, but most of them do need to be guys like Alaric Jackson, 26 year old who is a good starter. They can also add a guy like Jarran Reed DT who is older but can be a stop gap player while they build over the next couple of years. But their bigger investments need to be guys who can be foundational pieces for them, like Nick Bolton, Odighizuwa, Jackson, Baun etc..
I admit.. I haven't played madden in years.."Tell me you play Madden without telling me you play Madden"
It matters in terms of getting a foot in the door. We have a good story to tell and a persuasive guy telling it, but a no-trade clause doesn't give you a chance to even meet.Doesn't matter. No team is trading for a guy who says he won't play there. There's no protection for it and it wastes everyones time. A no trade clause is more about having the leverage to lock a team down so they are forced to negotiate an exit with you on your terms.
A team that trades for him is giving up a second or the equivalent of it. Nobody is doing that if they aren't 100% sure he's playing and all in on going there
I want your psychiatrist. They’re ****ing good!Agreed. I think this is the year we can make the playoffs. I feel like we can solve the needs in the next 2 months.
Yup. If we were mid dynasty or on the cusp, then yeah make the splurge. And even then, 4th overall is insane when you can just use that to get a blue chip talent locked in cheap for several years.
Garrett's cap number for 2025 is $19.7MThe Browns are currently $30 plus million over the cap. They would take an additional $16 million cap hit if they cut or trade Garrett before June 1st. That means any trade will likely happen after that. That would mean the Pats would have to go through free agency and the draft not addressing edge rusher and hope they can get a deal done in the summer with the Browns.
If Myles is serious about wanting to win then he's got to be willing to rip up his contract and work out a longterm deal with whomever.
Yeah he ain't coming here. That has nothing to do with what I posted. It would help his new team, not Cleveland. It makes no difference. He can't win here with this team. We have a long way to go.
No kidding.Yeah he ain't coming here.
Very intriguing. Although I don't buy the "win" reasoning.
Hes 29 and wants one more big, guaranteed pay day.
He was drafted by Cleveland.I don’t either. If you think about it, if he really wanted to win overall, he would have never gone to Cleveland. I think he could be open to coming here. Money talks for these dudes.
Garrett's cap number for 2025 is $19.7M
his base salary in 2025 is $1.25m amd in 2026 it is $1.3m.
all of his pro rated bonus money stays on the Browns cap

Patriots should be striving to be a contender right nowIDK, he is going to be 30 next year. I would be a little concerned that he would be on the decline by the time the Patriots were a contender again even if they get there on the fastest timeline.
I wouldn't be against a trade, but I would be concerned about giving up too much for him.
NOONE knows how far that "Collaboration" went, and we probably never will.Huck, it has relevance because we can't ignore that we missed on the draft. Bill was ultimately fired due to the drafting.. the drafting is a reason why the roster isn't good. Look at KC they drafted well, eagles drafted well. Post brady we haven't. The roster has bottomed out. I agree the trenches is where we need to dedicate resources. Furthermore realistically who knows what Cleveland would take for Garrett. Any contender is going to have give up draft capital.
He was drafted by Cleveland.
Patriots should be striving to be a contender right now
In situations like this, usually the player has a shortlist of teams. Regardless of a no trade clause, there's only going to be a handful of teams he'll even let his agent talk to. When you make a whole public announcement that boils down to "I want to win a Super Bowl before I retire" there's going to be a red line that makes teams like us a non starter. It matters in terms of getting a foot in the door. We have a good story to tell and a persuasive guy telling it, but a no-trade clause doesn't give you a chance to even meet.
