The Pats dropped a couple spots during their bye week, mainly because I'm hearing chatter that they're ready to start rookie quarterback Kevin O'Connell if Matt Cassel doesn't get a lot better, and fast.

You really shouldn't be using media/forumer chatter (Gasper, patsfans) to affect your rankings. That's not even "kinda" sound journalism.

We don't know what chatter he is referring to. For all we know, he has sources closer to the situation. It isn't all that crazy that they'd be considering playing O'Connel.

The Cowboys, with their lousy defense being exposed AGAIN, should be lower.

The 'Skins, playing consistently strong in all 3 facets of the game, should be higher

I like the Skins. I just need to see a little more. I think having all 4 NFC East teams in the top 8 is pretty impressive, but top 5 is a bit too much this early in the season.

My feeling is that the Cowboys are getting demerited way too much for their last game, and the Skins are getting bumped too much for it. The Cowboys are still a top 3 team, and the Redskins are in no way a top 5 team... top 10, but top 5? No way.

well so far their only loss was to the sb champs, in the first game under a new HC, with their qb learning his offense

i think they deserve the high rank till they prove they don't

I can't understand all this Bronco love. They have the 2nd WORST scoring defense in the NFL. Take away two highly skeptical officiating calls and this team could be 1-3. They have won their two home games by a combined 3 points. Their record does not tell the real story.
