My Hopes For Tomorrow (before 4)

BB was in Nashville yesterday too.

Edit: I realise you might be aware of this but the article was suggesting it was perhaps because Tennesse were interested in HT.

It very well could be.

OK! It's 6am.

The Pat's really need to resign Hightower, he is a great player and not one that is easily replaceable.

IF they accomplish that and nothing else, then today will be a success. Now imagine if teams overpay for both Bennett and Ryan, that could lead to 2 third round comp picks next year.

There is no FA out there (that is not already franchised) that I think the Pat's will go after on day one.

Interested to see if we sign Oderick and Gillislee.

Pats get +6.5 mil in cap space by just cutting Amendola. I'm going to be disappointed if they aren't aggressive in FA tomorrow, they have a crapload of cap space. There's no excuse.

"It became very clear to me sitting out there today, that every decision I've ever made, in my entire life, has been wrong. My life is the opposite of everything I want it to be. Every instinct I have, in every part of life, be it something to wear, something to eat... It's all been wrong." ---George "Marqui" Costanza

I don't want to see anything rash done. Football is not played until Sept. I don't think Hightower comes back, he does not seem to like it here and I think he wants to play in a warm climate.

The guy has won 4 championship rings, I think he wants to enjoy playing more and get away from the stress of trying to be #1 for 320 days a year. He has a chance to parlay his work he put in over the last 4 years into a nice payday for himself in a city where he can golf all year.

When if ever does BB do a deal on the first day of Free Agency. His MO is to wait and then sign guys on day 3or 4. So don't be surprised if nothing happens today

Would be very surprised if the Pats make a big signing, as every year we go through the same hand wringing...

OTOH not many saw the Dwayne Allen trade, so you never know..

I know he never signs anyone, but one year. Wouldn't it be fun. He's the king of the surprise move. although maybe Allen filled that quota this year.

They have a lot of cap space and they have a lot of spots to fill.
That is no reason to abandon the discipline they have built thevtram around and spend like drunken sailors at the outset of free agency when players are getting ridiculously overpaid.

Bb has had a year to resign Hightower. I don't imagine his plan was to wait and then follow him to visits to other teams and then coerce him to sign.

Ummmmmmmmm what?

Re-signing of Branch and not hearing much about Hightower (or any of the Pats player esp. Harmon) - would make my day..

The Patriots made offers to their players before th
My hope is to have King and Branch under contract.

I expect the rest to either be gone or going out to find out what they are worth.

Bolden is also someone who might be signed before the deadline.
Branch was interested in re-signing a week ago. I wonder if this deal fell thru?

Rash to the Patriots is paying a player his market value. The Patriots expect every
player to give them a 33% discount like Marcus Cannon.
