I have a feeling Bill will pass on Hughes' lack of height and take Sapp but, like you, OLBoBBC (OLB of Bill Belichick's Choice) works for me at that spot. If Odrick slides to 21, he'll likely get to 22 so why trade two good picks in 47 & 53?

This just isn't a draft you trade up into the 20's. There are first round grades into the 40's. In fact it's a draft where if you're top targets are off the board you start the march downward incrementally and add what you can in the 2nd, 3rd and even 4th. I bet Bill is still hoping he can parlay Tebow mania into a couple of picks, although it seems to be loosing (hyped up) steam as the draft approaches.

I think it's possible, because this year the battle for 1st WR off the board is looking like a war of attrition.

Yeah...I have a real hard time figuring out Thomas. It seems every play he faked a block, then when the support moved to play the rollout, he got one-on-one coverage to run by. I know he's big and fast and can catch. I don't know if he can get open or understand the art of route running.

Just to be clear, I agree with you both. I just think that the weakness at the top of this draft class will get Thomas taken above #44, and that the Pats would be better off trying to convert that pick into two lower-selected receivers -- from what's available, probably an experienced receiver who's small and quick (e.g. Sanders, Roberts), and a bigger project type (Easley, Webb, Long).

Right now I think I'd rather have Carrington and the 50th best player in this draft than Odrick. Not that I don't like Odrick, just the value of the 50th best player greater than the difference in value of Carrington and Odrick.

We have guys that can hold the point, Carrington can play in rotation. I wouldn't forsake the 50th pick solely for what Odrick can produce as a rookie.

Price is a tough one to judge, since he played in such a messed-up offense. Good size, great straight-ahead athlete, reportedly gives great effort. But I'm not sold on his hands and cuts.
