Mounting frustration in Denver locker room: "Any time we hold Brady to 16 points, we expect to win!"

I know Pats fans have been called arrogant by fans of other teams, and I guess it is something due to being vocally proud of our team.

That being said, I really do find the Broncos and their fans to be arrogant, with an added lack of perspective.

Left to their own devices they would be an also ran, quarterbacked by Tim Tebow, the QB that they drafted in the 1st round.

They had some talented players like Von Miller, due to being such a horrible team, that they were picking very high.

Then a future HOF QB, that they had nothing to do with drafting or developing, fell into their laps and made them relevant.

They act like the privileged person who it is said "was born on 3rd base and thinks they hit a triple". For them to say anything derogatory about the Pats and their history, is to ignore the fact that Your Team Cheats has them as the cheatingest team in the NFL*.

The Pats have earned everything they have and they did it the old fashioned way.

Like Smith Barney, they earned it!

I will add a few unpopular opinions.

The Denver D played better than ours. They gave up more points cause they faced a much better offense. Many of Denver's "offensive" points this year have been a direct results of STs or D either out right scoring or setting them up for scores. It is one of the worst Os in the NFL and when asked to drive down the field to score it rarely delivers. It is absolute trash and that is cause they invested nearly no money into it compared to the D.

However that being said the way the Pats D has played the last 5 games I would say besides Denver and Seattle there is no D I'd rather have and it really looks like it closed that gap a good amount to nearly be right there.

They make up for their lack of the eye popping talent you see from those teams on D with being the smartest D in the NFL and really good in the red zone. No D right now is playing better in that area IMO including Denver and Seattle. Also worth noting the last time the D surrendered a TD that was on a long drive with the game still in the balance was against the Jets. They have had 12 quarters of not letting a team drive down the field for a TD.

Brady 'appeared' to struggle, because of what he was asked to do. We ran the ball on first down more than I can ever remember. Our game plan took away a lot of the things Brady does well in order to be safe.
Gameplans evolve as the game goes on. It is clear that this one was about being safe on offense, not turning the ball over (which is actually 90% of why we have lost in Denver historically) and put the game in the hands of what is becoming one of the best defenses in the NFL .
Had the game been 17-14 in the 2nd quarter you would have seen more throwing on early downs, more plays designed to get the ball down the field, and a game plan driving chunk plays rather that 3rd and short and a punt is ok.

hard to say......had the game gone differently, would our offensive gameplan had changed, and how would the denver D responded to that? game plan was to take no chances, stick to the run, set up 3rd and short, limit the big play capability of a defense that thrives on the big play.....when we did take a chance down the field, it was there....a hogan drop, a shoe string tackle on white.....there were a few big plays that just missed....taking nothing away from the Denver D, they are very good, but the Patriots played it very close to the vest as part of the gameplan, and it worked.....at the same time, the Denver offense threw everything they could at the Pats D (with a very good WR corps I might add) and went almost half a game without a first down....

Remember Lomardis quote. They came off the field saying the one thing they had to fix was that Denver dared them to run and they still couldn't run effectively, and that when teams give them the run, they need to be able to take it.

This is my point. This year the tool box is better equipped with a running game they did not have last year. Yesterday's game plan would not have worked last year.

Also there were a number of 'bad throws' that were game plan. Brady was CLEARLY instructed to not fight for more time to throw under the rush (to prevent turnovers) and just dump it at the receivers feet or throw it oob if the rush got close.
This was a unique Patriot game plan, and I think it centered around we can score enough playing it extremely safe to win and unless strange things start happening the only way we lose is to turn it over.

should/could sure - but every throw seemed to be low & behind......Brady seemed to be rushing and his timing was off.....it's not like they were well thrown balls that were dropped (which is on the receiver), like the few that happened later.......every one was a lousy ball, a few of them were catchable, but those drops were on the QB more than the receiver, imho

yeah there were a few that looked intentional throw aways to me as well.....agreed on that point
