I've been watching a lot of old games with Gamepass in recent weeks. I'm now watching some in-season games. I know many will choose the Miami Miracle as the most frustrating loss, but with the 1st seed on the line in week 15 away against the Steelers, the Patriots were just jobbed. I don't say that very often, maybe once every 2 or 3 years (although this year's Chiefs game is a good candidate), but the Patriots were hosed at Pitt in a 17-10 loss.

A ton of holding calls stalled Patriot drives in key situations. Defensive pass interference against the Patriots that were questionable as well, but on the other side, Gronk couldn't buy a call. Steelers a full yard short of first down? 1st down! Oh well--that game sucked.

Miami loss I found myself just laughing as Drake ran into the endzone. The Steelers loss left me convinced we wouldn't be winning the Super Bowl.

Hosed, lol. That team sucked ass that day and Brady was playing injured. However, the pass defense was excellent. Run defense was terrible. 2018, along with 2001, were the two “luckiest” years where everything needed to fall just right. In 2018, they lucked out by playing two teams in which their starting RBs were injured (Chargers, who we would have beaten anyway, and Rams) and one who too quickly booted their’s (Queefs).

Exactly how I felt as well. 2018 SB sure felt like a « bonus » but I loved it. The D was trending upwards and deserves a lot of credit. But to me, the mental toughness of the team was a hallmark of 2018. Down, but not out on so many occasions.

They won the super bowl, your think that would take the "frustration" out off any loss

Do you not remember how you felt during any given moment in the past?

In the Steelers game, the Patriots had 14 penalties for 106 yards. They were called for offensive holding on running plays twice. I haven't gone back to watch the game, but my recollection is that the Steelers ran a lot of designed cut back runs. That is, the back and the O-line would all start out going right and then the back would break back to the left (or vice versa). You'd think that style of play and the officials looking for holding on running plays would lead to more penalties on the Steelers offensive line, but they were only penalized once.

people actually get hung up on loses in seasons the pats won it all?

there a million more concerns than that.

Thought pats was going to put up 40 after that quick bomb to Hogan

Steelers game is when the doubt really crept in.

My most frustrating loss in 2018 was what I lost in my bank account after buying all that Patriot’s championship gear.

Sure but I can honestly say winning the super bowl takes the sting out of any loss

if you meant 2019, clearly it’s Miami, but the 18 Pats showed incredible grit and resilience going into KC and overcoming the crowd and the refs to win one of the great games Of the BB/TB12 era. I wouldn’t change a single thing about that season.

I must say, winning SB 53 Was one of the most satisfying wins ever, to cap off a great playoff run that NOBODY thought they had in them. Brady in the 4th qtr of both the Chief’s game and the Ram’s game was vintage Tom Brady. Just a surgical assassin when he had to be his most clutch.

I remember after the Chief’s playoff game, my brother in law, who hates the Pats (he’s a Dolphin’s fan), said, it’s just incredible how Brady just zips that ball into the tightest windows to Edelman and Gronk, the accuracy is amazing. I have to say, the Pats beating KC in the AFCCG, IN KC, when nobody thought they could do it, was one of the most satisfying playoff wins I ever witnessed. Love that game.

I didn't remember it as a game they got jobbed in, but on the rewatch I was like, that's ridiculous.

The Patriots were actually called for defensive holding by a DL on an OL on a Steelers running play in the 2nd half.

I didn't even remember the game. That's how little I was frustrated by it.

I watched the game today.

I don't like one sided games. Simple.

The Miami Miracle was in 2018.

We're complaining about 2018?

Miami Miracle annoyed me.

That's one reason that 2010 and 2017 don't bother me much, we got our luck both ways. But 2007 on the other hand...
