What a difference a season can make. Although a Super Bowl ring would be a huge step for Canton, it seems Moss is now a lock for the Hall. The case:

Arguably the most dominating receiver ever in his prime.

All-Time record for most TDs in a single season.

The centerpiece of the TWO highest scoring offenses in NFL history ('07 Patriots and '98 Vikings)

Over 12,000 yards and 124 TD catches in his career.

A gigantic piece of the only 16-0 season in NFL history.

6-time pro bowl player. Rookie of the Year, 1998.

What do you guys think? I'd say it's time to start the engraving process, and if we re-sign him, he'll go in as a Patriot.

He has the resume, now he's gotta show the longevity. The amazing thing about Rice was he did it for almost 20 seasons. I think the Pats will extend Moss, and more records are going to fall in the future.

Moss is no question a Hall of Famer.
I'd say right now he's #2 all time already.

The only question is if he can stay productive for several more seasons to be able to challenge Jerry Rice as best WR ever.

One would think so,even without the SB..

Yup. A ring and a second season remotely like this and he's a first ballot lock.

he's got plenty of longevity already. 10 years in the league. 6 and it should have been 7 as a Pro Bowler. He doesn't have to hang on beyond all reason because he doesn't know what to do with himself. I respect guys who leave before you have to beg them to.

Yeah.... TO must be really pissed!

if he stays with the pats and continue the success his having... i dont see any reason why not.

Particularly if he gets a ring, without a doubt.

Irvin got in. Look up his stats. They were spectacular, but Moss has already surpassed them all and is playing his best season yet and still going strong.

If Randy Moss never played another football game I would say that he would still be guarenteed a place in the HOF. Maybe some voters want to see him contribute to a SB championship first, but the records are there and the being one of the most dominating WR's in history should be good enough.

I do want to see Moss challenge Rice for the greatest of all time, but IMO he could do that by only playing another 3-4 years (which is very reasonable). If in the next three seasons he adds, say, 4000 receiving yards (to put him over 15,000), 30 touchdowns (to put him over 150), and 300 receptions (to put him over 1000), he ought to get plenty of consideration as the best of all time. Because Moss's explosiveness and the spectacular dimension he adds to the game will give him a major upward push even if he doesnt have numbers equal to Rice's (who, not to mention, played an ETERNITY to pad those stats).
