You think that would diffuse it? Brady has been making comments like that all week and media outlets are refusing to run the other side of the argument. It's pretty clear by now that entities like ESPN want to make bad guys out of the Patriots.

That's because it's not controversial enough for them to run with.

If TB were to say, "Yeah we're running up the score, so what? Don't like it, stop us or shut up." It'd be on the cover of every sports page and run on ESPN 304894893 times a day - because it's controversial, which as we know... sells.

All Pats fans please take note of the fact no Colts fans have chimed in on this thread. I find that strange since they have not shyed away from threads discussing this issue based upon media types who criticize our lopsided victories.

Now that we have THE ULTIMATE EXPERT opinion on this matter...where'd they all go?

Bull****. I'm going to inflame things here a little bit.

We didn't run the score up on the Buffalo Bills. We ran it up the middle and then we took a knee multiple times.

Obviously, Bill respects **** Jauron more than some of these other clowns (Wade Phillips, pshaw!)

I don't remember it any of it happening in Cleveland either. They were both lopsided victories, but certainly nothing to obviously say we were sticking it to them.

There might be something to this.

I do like like the JETS idea. Deep bombs all game, once we get to 40-42 or so (sometime around the half) we keep them between the 20's . Once we get inside the 25. Take a knee time. Either that, or drive it to the 5, take 2 knee's then kick a field goal. Really nasty sh!t like that.

I would love to see the Patriots take a knee three times against the Jets with 10 minutes left in the game. I hope the score is lopsided enough to allow it.

For all the talk about "running up the score," is this really what teams want? Talk about humiliating -- to basically acknowledge that the other team can't stop you so you have to stop yourself. What do you do if you're the Jets in that situation? Try to score when you get the ball back.

Belichick gave Gibbs and his team the opportunity to act like men. To stop the third string on fourth down and get the ball back. They didn't take a knee. They didn't kick a field goal. They respected their opponent and didn't humiliate them. If Joe Gibbs wanted to forfeit the game, he could have. The ref was right there.

We should humiliate the Jets if we get a chance.

Screw the media. Give them what they want. Take a knee with 10 minutes left and let them see how pathetic they are being.

One thing they mentioned of EEI today was what happens to a team that regularly takes 1/2 the game off. They turn into a 30 minute Football team. The past several weeks have been all sunshine and lollipops; but you have to believe that sooner or later this team will need to play all out for the entire game, and its highly unlikely that they'll only have to do this once. Its one thing to have 2-3 hard-fought games and then a blowout, followed by 2-3 additional hard games before the next blowout. The guys won't become adapted in that case; but when week after week the second 1/2 is goof-off time, regardless of whether the team is goofing off on the sideline or on the field, I can see problems emerging.

Goes to show you how good BB is. He had this problem solved before it even showed up.

god forbid we lose in the playoffs these same media types will offer that the pats were not 'conditioned' or 'rusty' because of all the blow outs they played. They will come up with some weird theory that the pats shouldve run the ball more then to keep the games going longer instead of early blowouts.

Well.....I guess we won't be running up the score on the Steelers later on this year.....

Maybe they are all saying the nice things backing Bellicheck up out of fear.....

I suspect the main reason we won't be running up the score on the Steelers is that they are a hard-assed, well-coached team who won't give up and won't let us. We've not seen too many of those types of team yet.
