I think even Bob Kraft himself knows deep down that there is no way that a Super Bowl can or should be held at Gillette. ProJo's Paul Kenyon may publish the local Chamber of Commerce's enthusiastic comments based on Kraft's off the cuff remarks from last May, but the reality is that Foxboro should not even rank 32 in terms of possible SB sites. Mentioning Broadway and then things to do in Providence in the same column should only be done in a tongue-in-cheek manner, which sadly this column was not.

Splitting pre-game events between Providence and Boston makes little sense due to the time it takes to travel between the two cities. And that's before getting into the logistical nightmare that is travel along Route One on a game day.

Rather than saying the 'right things' to appease the local politicians, Bob Kraft should just be honest and come out and say that holding a Super Bowl game in Foxboro makes no sense, and end this ludicrous annual speculation once and for all.

If this year SB in NYC/NJ is a success, I see no reason why other north eastern cities shouldn't host the big game. Foxboro is close enough to both Boston and Providence that they can spread the week around it. Not to mention, in 2 years the SB going to the 49ers new stadium in Santa Clara, which takes almost an hour to get to SF.

It can be no worse them the complaints I've heard from people that have gone to the SB in Jacksonville, Arizona, and even Dallas.

By which you mean Arlington, by which you mean, until 2013, the most populous U.S. city that did not have a public transportation system of any kind.

don't worry...long before the Super Bowl is ever held in New England, we will be graced with multiple Bowls played in Frankfurt,Oslo,Rome, Athens, Rio De Janeiro, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Moscow and London three times, as the Goon expands the expanded 18 games to a full six months of play worldwide...of course, making players wear the flags of the host city in their waistbands will be required uniform.

can't wait...

I think game day traffic is not really an issue at all. Sure it was 20 years ago, but it is handled extremely well now. I suggest it is no worse getting in and out of Gillette than any other stadium and I've driven to 11 games in the last 2 years. Traffic has not been anything I would consider a problem at a major sporting event any of those times.
