I think the guy quit on his team as I predicted at the time when he bent the Jets over the sink and continued on with their cap hell.

That's what I think. They should have dealt BOTH Richardson and Wilkerson. But, they only dealt Richardson.

This guy would ONLY be a fit here if he is genuine about winning, where he comes here and runs to sign a 1 year deal. If not, some garbage team will overpay him and he'll disappear as fast as Kony Ealy.

Not enough cap space this year to take a chance on a pact like that. I imagine that someone will pay him 7-8m dollars a year (just a guess) at the least.

If they don’t sign Solder or somehow clear the 6.9m with Gronk, then we’d have money to spend on a bigger signing. Just having a hard time seeing it this year, that’s all. The draft will be big.

Not happening. “Prove it” deals are wishful thinking and become synonymous with the all too familiar “hometown discount”. Issues or not, this is a guy who will get paid beyond what the Pats will offer.

Belichick signed Haynesworth despite all the reputation red flags. What’s to stop him from making him an offer, or at least meeting with him.

He did it last year with Ealy. Gettleman and BB are close, so BB knew he was taking a risk there.

That was as small of a risk as was humanly possible. Drop handful of draft slots for high upside player that fitted the athletical profile the Pats are looking for. Cut without any bigger consequences.

If you can get Wilkerson for the same amount of resources and zero guarantees it is a no brainer to try it. Of course that will never happen so those two situations are really not comparable.
