Mo Wilkerson just cut

I suspect there will be multiple teams vying for his services, hoping to capture the production he had during his rookie contract. Just not a lot of quality Free agent DL out there.

how do you know this? he has a lot to prove after back to back god awful seasons

I know this.

The Jets cut him
..........and the Pat's will insist on 1 year prove it deal.

That leaves 30 other teams for him to find ...........I'm guessing a nice solid 3 or 4 year deal.

Now you gotta bet your house on it......what do you really think?

I bet the Pat's offer him 3 years 24 million

I wonder if he'll end up here, the defense could use any spark right now.

Bowles had to discipline and bench him. Don't see him being a Belichick kinda guy.

Shame too. Guy was looking like one of the better defensive guys in the league for a while there.

The list of talented discontents on whom Belichick has taken a chance at a discount price is extremely long.

Martellus Bennett (twice!), Chad Johnson, Randy Moss, Corey Dillon, Albert Haynesworth, Bryan Cox, Aqib Talib...

Not all of them have worked out but its tough to say he isn't a Belichick guy based purely on being disciplined on another team.

I don’t imagine his attitude is something that the team is looking for in the wake of reports of potential instability behind the scenes, but there’s no questioning his pure talent. He’ll likely want more than the Pats are comfortable with giving, however.

Agreed, even if he was available for a price the Pats are comfortable paying for his talent, he's the last kind of guy you want to bring in if you're looking to avoid a 2009 style locker room slide.

Given that vea is probably off the board by 31, Poe would be a very nice addition to our dt rotation.

Tim Settle is another possibility. Funny thing about Vea and Settle is that if you read some of their draft scouting reports without knowing which round each is projected to go in you'd think Settle was the better NT.

At any rate I'll be watching the NT's at the combine this year.

Question for the board regarding Poe. Does it bother anyone that he had a weight clause put into his contract? The guy is a dominant DL but if gets his big contract does he balloon up out of shape? Just curious.

His diminished abilities might be due to a really crappy franchise, and really crappy coaches, really crappy defensive schemes and a really crappy front office..

No thanks. He got paid big bucks in NJ, then just disappeared. Pass.

Meh. Guerrero's avocado ice cream would take care of that weight issue.

Or he could be just a big, over-rated, athletic idiot who's never been forced to play with any discipline in his entire 7-year career and it's starting to show up as he hits age 29.

I can't help it. Every time this thread gets bumped up to the top of the list, I mentally add "a fart" to the end of the title. It just seems so oddly appropriate.
