Plus, we don’t need a different thread for every single isolated incident that happens; that’s annoying.

Unbelievably stupid....70K is chump change even for a practice squad player....
How could you possibly get that idea? The average PS player makes about $150,000 if they manage to stay on the PS for an entire regular season. The career length of these guys isn't very long, so there's no easy way to recover. Losing $70K after taxes could lead to bankruptcy if they have debts of any consequence.
Thomas needs help. Constantly crying and whining.
Also Larry Johnson has been batshit crazy for a while now but is hilariously crazy ...
wrong...if you're making millions and some punk rips off 70 grand you PAY another punk to settle the score for a cut. WTF do you even care for? These morons probably blow 70 large in a week on hookers and blow. **** them and their blowup Tyreek Hill puppet dolls.
I am not sure I buy that. I believe when someone buys an NFL team, they are not allowed to use acquisition debt to do so. It's straight cash, homie.Relevant to NFL pandemic recovery: Trask: Debt-ceiling increase may mark a major shift in NFL's...
Most useful info:
The debt ceiling (as the limit is referred to within league circles) is currently $350 million, with an additional amount that may, under certain circumstances, be borrowed against non-controlling interests. An increase to $500 million, an increase of roughly 43 percent, is being considered with the suggestion that it is to address pandemic-related decreases in revenue.
and
During my years in the league, the gap in annual revenue between the highest-revenue team and the lowest-revenue team was nine figures. There was also a tremendous gap in wealth between and among the 31 owners (Green Bay is publicly owned). Further, teams that have been purchased often carry acquisition debt whereas teams passed from generation to generation do not. Teams that are inherited are subject to estate tax, but such tax obligations can be addressed and satisfied with intelligent, proactive planning.
As another poster mentioned in another thread (Fnordcircle?), I can see both sides of this situation...
Those guys care about being disrespected. They done got their asses whipped gambling, had to do something to balance the books and get the respect they need and felt they’d not been given. People are under the misconception that gruff ol' Billy's a cold-staring, poker-playing Closer ...Uh, Reggie...can we get that back? We could surely use that right about now lol...
