Good interview, although I think Westhoff is underestimating the Patriots ability to go deep.
Thanks
Exactly. This guy seems cryogenically frozen in the year 2010. He claims he has been watching them closely this year as an analyst, but anyone half paying attention knows full well what Chris Hogan and Malcolm Mitchell (not to mention Michael Floyd, now) have brought to the Patriots. His ignorance on that was astounding.
BTW compare the RUNNING GAME of the Pats January 2010 to January 2017:
2011:
BenJarvus Green-Ellis (In his prime), Danny Woodhead (In his prime), The Ghost of Fred Taylor (DNP in the game), the Ghost of Sammy Morris
2017: LeGarette Blount (in his prime), Dion Lewis (in his prime), James White (in his prime), James Develin (in his prime).
It's shockingly ignorant to think this team in January 2017 relies totally on short passes to the slot receiver.
Now, the thing I DO hope BB heard is his more concerning claim (because he WAS a ST coach) that there is a clear blueprint for blocking Ryan Allen's punts and that he knows the Steelers, at least, have that practiced for the possibility of playing the Pats if they win on Sunday. That's the ONE nugget I would take away from this raving egomaniac's (how many times did he find the need to puff his chest out about what he has done and who pays to listen to him? That's just sad) interview.
