#28 is the earliest I'd take him.....if he doesn't make it there, we'll live.

While I really like Pouncey he’s going to be way too gourmet in terms of draft price, I’d much rather see us go after Danny Watkins and Rodney Hudson, who I think will be THE steal of the draft as far as Guards go, he has all the skills I want in a lineman but his stock is lower than it should be because people who don’t understand physics think he’s “undersized”.

That only makes sense if the Cowboys think they're getting a 2nd chance at Maurkice instead. Mike in the top 10? Yikes.

Mike Pouncey's draft stock is based off his name, he shouldn't even be a first rounder.

he is the best guard

he is the best guard

Taking him that early is still a major reach, I hope it doesnt happen as it'll inflate the stock of the Guards I want in the 2nd and 3rd round.

My sentiments exactly. I'm pretty sure if everyone knew how good Maurkice ws going to be he wouldn't of made it out of the top 3. For the Cowboys to assume he is going to be as good as older brother is just foolhardy on their part. He could be better which I doubt very highly. But to use a top 10 pick on someone that grades out 17 to 40. Yikes I guess is the word that come to mind.

Pouncey talks too much.

Pouncey wants to line up next to his brother and wants to be a Steeler and maybe he is opening his mouth to try and get the Steelers to be nuts enough to do a deal in a trade swap.

The Steelers do not move around the board much in their history of drafting,so I doubt they would be crazy enough to reunite the Pouncey boys in the Steel City and give up picks.

I agree he is overrated but you can make a great argument that he is a first rounder without his brothers name. From all accounts he had a fantastic pro day for one, in front of a lot of scouts, including Bill Belichick.

Mike Pouncey doesn't know it yet but, by about the third hour of the 2011 draft, he will have developed a deep, lifelong hatred of Jerrah Jones and all things "Cowboys."

However, if Jerrah is actually crazy enough to do this, Mankins is probably going to want more money. OTOH, it also seems to increase the chance (a bit) that Watt falls to #17.

If he does go this high, he should give his brother half of his signing bonus.

Same goes for Matthews....

If he is drafted anywhere above the 4th round its a family thing more than just talent.

^this

His shotgun snaps are really shaky at best and his feet aren't good enough for an LT. So he's strictly an OG. IMO not even the best OG. And I don't think even J.Jones is dumb enough to take an OG (and only an OG) in the top half of the first.

However, if JJ takes someone else at #9 and wants to get back into the late first or top of the second to take Pouncey I'd rob him...er, I mean I'd listen.

Dallas grabbing Pouncey might make more sense if, for example, they believed that they could trade their #9 with a team with two picks in the first round, perhaps at #'s 17 & 28. Pouncey at #17 makes more sense than 9.

Dallas' 9 and third rounder 71 come close in value to 17 & 28.

It actually makes sense all round, with the caveat that there is someone there at #9 that the Patriots want. Dallas need a RT, probably Carimi and adding Pouncey goes a long way to strengthening their O/line. As for the Pats, they get a highly rated player, STILL have 33, 60 and three third rounders with which they can move around in the draft, trade for second rounders next year or just pick.

So Dallas takes Pouncey with #9? Sounds a bit high to me.

I'll second that. Of course both teams have a deal pre draft pending available players but that could well be the sweet spot for the hi-end athletes. I would love to see them take Quinn here, I can see BB loving his wrestling background ala Neal. Stranger things have happened.

Theres NO WAY the cowgirls pick Pouncey at #9

Will be Watt, Amakumara, Tyron Smith or a trade down
