Perillo, ever the optimist, said this week on EEI he considered the signing comparable to the Fernando signing. Hope he's wrong.

We'll see if O'Neal can play but right off the bat it's obvious he has much better ball skills than Bryant just looking at career INTs. For whatever reason, O'Neal seems to get disenchanted at places and see his play drop but for a one year contract at a place he seems to really want to be, there is a lot of upside here.

I noted in another thread that O'Neal's ball skills more closely resembled Samuel's than Bryant's ever did. In that context, the O'Neal signing makes more sense than the Bryant signing. I also like that O'Neal can play closer to the LOS. I only hope that he can play closer to the O'Neal of 2005.

Some people need to continually re-hash to feel better about themselves.

I like to think the signing will be a great move for us. I realize his drop in production, but one would hope he'll come in here and flourish like most everyone who loses their way and ends up in NE.
