The only way the Pats get Blount for 3/5M with incentives to 8M is if he's had the koolaid spiked and doesn't want to go any place else. I can see the Bills, Jets and Eagles off the top of my head signing him for more. I'm sure Rex would be giddy.

I want Talib back, and wasn't suggesting they not bring him back. But the Pats won't overpay, so if he is looking for a max return then I believe he will be playing elsewhere next season. I hope not.

We clearly need him back. I may be reading too much into it. But, I think BB's criticism of Welker is an indication of how he feels about Talib. And, his impact on the defense. I think we will keep him with a 3-4 year offer. Not sure about Edelman. Let him test the market. And, see if you can come close to matching.

Agree with letting the old fatties go. Need more athleticism on defense. The game is more about playing in space and less about holding your ground.

I say bye bye to Hooman, Mulligan and Collie. Together, their money can be used on someone like Hakeem Nicks, with an additional restructure (Wilfork, Mankins, cut Wilson, etc.).

Do not be surprised if the Patriots pay top dollar for Talib. They did for Wilfork and Mankins.

The amount of resources that the Patriots have already expended on CB puts a premium on what they would be willing to offer.

If Edelman leaves, we would have Amendola and Collie as our slot receiver and backup instead of Edelman and Amendola, presuming that Collie is re-signed.

What we need to more downfield production from Dobson and whoever (Thompkins, Harrison or even an addition).

The open question is how much Edelman is worth to the patriots. He did great, no question. He should get serious money from someone, maybe even the patriots.

Collie to replace Edelman?
