Michael Floyd wants to return

Vincent J from Tampa or Jeffrey would be an excellence up as a WR.
Jackson is done, no chance we would pay what it takes to get an unreliable Jeffrey

I hope Michael Floyd made strides the last two weeks to be among the actives Sunday night. Would really hate to waste his Statue in this Big a Game.

It all comes down to money, but performance matters too. So far, have you seen enough from Floyd that would make you think BB would pay him to be here next year? I haven't. Not unless the number is really Patriots friendly. Of course, Floyds value across the league is at an alltime low too. So he might not see a lucrative offer elsewhere.

Its going to be very team friendly, and not sure really how much he could have shown yet, coming in when he did to a pretty set offense.

He has a statue? In Houston?

I read a few different posts in regards to Floyds salary. Per Miguels salary cap page the pats were responsible for $1,291,765/ 3 weeks of his 7.32 salary. He is then an UFA agent at the end of this season. If he leaves the Patriots during the 2017 free agency he will count as a lost free agent in the 2018 compensatory pick calculations. Julian Edelmans 2017 cap hit is $5.2 million. I think if the pats are interested in resigning Floyd they offer him a around 3.0-3.5 million a year (Similar to Chris Hogans contract).

and we know how strongly Goodell is influenced by precedent NOT!

Case in point: NFL teams fined & lost picks for tampering. NYJ tampered and only $100K fine

Case in point: The NFLPA had no say so in that. It's significantly different when it comes to players..

Right, because NFLPA totally dominated Goodell in the Brady case

Belichick always says the Super Bowl comes down to individual matchups, so if Floyd has put together a few good weeks of practice, they might have a role for him on Sunday to take advantage of this green secondary

Floyd isn't going to get tagged with a suspension of more than a game. The reason is because Goodell already set a precedent with malcontent Sheldon Richardson.

Sorry, but falling asleep in your car after drinking is not nearly as bad as driving 143 MPH with a loaded gun in your car and a child in the back seat.

If Goodell tries to suspend Floyd for more than a game, then the NFLPA will fight it because of the precedent already set by the Richardson decision.

As for your comments about the two play-off games, Floyd being active/inactive had nothing to do with how "sloppy" or "polished" the team played.. That's got to be one of the most ridiculous insinuations I've heard..

As for whether or not Floyd is dressed. I wouldn't be surprised to see him dressed and Lengel not. Multi-TE sets could be with Fleming and Bennett.. Floyd is the better receiver than Lengel.

Everything depends on the match-ups that Belichick believes he can create.
After Hogan went down with injury in that Houston game, and Floyd replaced him, there was a big difference in the offense's effectiveness. It was very noticeable. That's what I meant. A healthy Hogan in the Pittsburgh game, and the Pats were humming along more consistently. Nothing against Floyd, but I don't see any other receiver inactive other than him. I'd be surprised if Mitchell or Amendola are inactive instead of Floyd.

Yes I think I have. Several plays against Miami. A couple of receptions showed different skills. Carried several defenders for a ride on one. Tap danced the sideline very nicely on another. And then there was this one block...

Well crap. Was hoping he would put out there that he wanted a change of scenery. Goodell would see that and being the moronic tool bag he is would suspend him 2 games. Now that he says he wants come back, Roger "Integrity" Goodell will likely sentence him to whichever of the following options is deemed the harshest: the Death Penalty or the NY Jets.

What % chance do you guys give him of being active Sunday?

I'd like it, the more receiving threats, the better. If either Hogan or Mitchell (who have been banged up) get injured, it'd be very nice to have.

Since amendola will probably be playing his last game as a pat on Sunday this will work.
Next years WRs
Edelman
Hogan
Mitchell
Floyd

Not bad, add a youngster for depth.

Let's not forget Slater

If amendola has to leave, the absolute perfect replacement is mccafrey of Stanford, who if the draft falls right, will be sitting there at #32.

Mcaffrey is a Rb and certainly not someone I see BB using a 1 on.

That guy is tough to bring down after the catch. I hope they find a way to retain him and hopefully he can pick things up better than some of the others that came and fizzled quickly.

I love that about our skill players.
Remember when our smurfs would make a catch and then either get out of bounds or go to the ground?

Now we have a tough to bring down Floyd.
A strong receiver who seems to like contact in Mitchell.
A hard to get a grip on duo of Edelman and Deion Lewis.
Don't even get me started in Gronk, Marty, and LGB.
