unless no one told him of the effects......some of these athletes are incredibly sheltered and naive
again, just saying there could be more to the story
and some drugs slow/block the body's ability to metabolize alcohol.....it could have taken a lot less than normal to hit .217 if his body's ability to metabolize alcohol was impaired to begin with - we can, on the average, metabolize 1 drink per hour without being legally impaired....some a little more, depending on size & otjer factors
just for the sake of argument let's say he had something else in his system......he drank his normal 2-3 beers on the flight, only the effect was worse than he's used to because of that......now he's more impaired then he intended, and now his rational decision making is out the window
just don't know the full story yet.......
