Miami releasing Suh - Patriots?

I posted earlier that I just don't see any way this happens based on Suh's history of chasing the dollars.

It would take a major decision on his part to sacrifice millions of dollars in order to play for a perennial contender. There's nothing in his history to suggest he is willing to do such a thing but I guess people can change. I wouldn't bet on it though.

Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about baby! Throw him on the line with Mario Williams and Julius Peppers and we are STACKED! Tell you what, Adam Seward is going to have his biggest season yet with that much beef in front of him occupying blockers. Watch out world, we gonna gitcha!!

Apples and oranges. Suh can still play. In fact, he can still dominate when properly motivated and in control. Inconsistency has been a major issue, no question, but he’d immediately be the Pats best and most disruptive interior lineman.

But yesterday, NOBODY wanted him in NE

Not necessarily. Belichick has gone big ticket before, and they haven’t been discount deals. Colvin and Thomas were both top of the market free agents, and Revis didn’t leave anything on the table to come to NE. I’d still put this as a long shot at this point, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

As a Husker fan this would make me happy, even if he is a jerk.

What’s apples and oranges?! I think you misunderstood my post.

He's the Dwight Howard of the NFL, can be a game changer but, does a lot of stupid things. If Bill got his head on straight could be a force, but I think it's unlikely they'd be able to do it.

I think they would move him to end and let him get after the QB. Shelton and Brown would start inside, with Suh and Flowers off the edge.

Agree. Kick him inside on third down or in obvious passing situations.

3-4 package of Sue-Shelton-Brown on the line w/Guy and Valentine on the rotation. Get Hightower at one OLB spot, continue to develop Flowers at the other. Plug KVN inside with best of re-signing Flowers/Langi/Roberts. Huge difference compared to last season.

I hate Suh. Such a dirty ass player. He’s always the big fish in the little pond. I’d love to see the social experience of him coming to NE though and being a nobody in comparison. Might actually do him some good. I wouldn’t be against the move, but I’d be incredibly surprised if it happens.

I just don't see him as a guy worth going big ticket for. IMHO, the man has underachieved for most of his career. Didn't he have issues with skipping OTA's and things like that?

Yeah, I bet. Now everybody wants him in NE. My, how quick the tables turn

I thought he might be a good fit for the Jets (see my post above) thinking he’ll command a lot of money, but if they money works out then why not here?

Respect. I was only referring to those who were trashing him yesterday; only to suddenly have a change of heart now that there’s a “rumor” out.

Belichick has often put aside behavior with prior team’s if he deems the player worth it. As far as underachieving goes that’s really hard to measure without looking at hours and hours and hours of tape. He played really well in Detroit and that got him his mega deal with Miami. Short of winning a Super Bowl it would be hard to justify the deal he got from the fish. As I said before I still think he’s a long shot, especially since word got out and NE is the last place that Miami wants him to end up, I think they would trade him to the Jets to keep that from happening. But if they release him tomorrow I won’t be surprised to see Belichick go after him.

I doubt he would come if they told him he would be a 3-4 End. Suh doesn’t seem like a guy who wants that role.
