From PFT:

McGAHEE MIGHT NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO BUFFALO

The Buffalo Bills traded running back Willis McGahee to the Baltimore Ravens. In 2007, the Buffalo Bills play the Baltimore Ravens.

And the game is scheduled to be played in Buffalo.

On the surface, the notion of McGahee heading back to Western New York doesn't have the same sex appeal as T.O.'s return to the Linc. But, by the time the game is played, the venom flowing from the local fans to their former star could eclipse the hatred that folks in Philly felt for Terrell Owens.

If, of course, McGahee continues to run his mouth.

"I couldn't wait to get out of there," McGahee told the Baltimore Sun regarding his former home. He fled after the season ended, and had no intention of returning.

When the trade to Baltimore went through, McGahee got his wish. "I was yelling and [stuff], running through the whole house, screaming, 'Yes! Yes!'" McGahee said. "It was such a relief."

So what was the problem with Buffalo?

"Coming from Miami, I was used to partying, going out, just having something to do every night. Restaurants, whatever. Going to Buffalo, it was like hitting a brick wall. Like, 'Damn!' Can't go out, can't do nothing. There's an Applebee's, a TGI Friday's, and they just got a Dave & Busters. They got that, and I'm like, 'What the?' And, you know, the women . . . ."

What about the women, Willis? Please, elaborate. Because we can't wait to see the welcome that those women will provide when you come back, hopefully for a prime time game.

"You see, when I was in college that's what I used to thrive off of," McGahee said of his status in Miami. "The better you do, the more fame you get. So you know, it was like, I was used to that. And then you get to Buffalo and no matter how you do, it's the same. It's no big city. You know what I did every day? I came home and played video games."

Frankly, there are far worse things McGahee could have been doing. We realize that most NFL players are young men who crave the adoration and all that that implies. But life is a lot more than hanging out in clubs and being surrounded by people who would never tell you anything you don't want to hear. The sooner that every NFL player understands this, the sooner we'll be able to quit tracking so many player arrests.

LOL. I'm actually OK with him thinking all these things, but to say them just makes him an enormous idiot.

Why are you OK with it. He's a big idiot for even thinking it. TGI Friday's, Dave & Buster's? Huh?! Why do I suspect this moron lived near the stadium? All of you who have been there know very well its not near the city and that it's in strip mall hell. That's like showing up in Foxboro and saying, Hey, where are all the 4 star restaurants and nightclubs?

What a moron this kid is. He should take a page from JP Losman's book. The guy is always out around town, going to clubs, going to good restaurants, just like the Bills from yesteryear who still live here.

And I have news for him: Baltimore is not an upgrade over Buffalo. Yeah, Buff is a small city, 1.1 million live here, tops, but Baltimore is another "Northeast Rustbelt City." Truth is, I'd rather live in Buffalo than Baltimore ANY DAY!! Now, Washington DC or Philadelphia is another story. But Baltimore?

Wow is all i have to say. I didnt think it was possible for one player to leave a team that is considered one of your rivals make every single person in that area hate him and also fans of other teams hate him.

Sorry Baltimore fans but this guy deserves to be treated like crap.

He's just a horrible person who only wants attention.

Hopefully when his playing career is over he goes the way of MC Hammer.

Because I don't understand why people get upset when a sports player doesn't like the city they happen to be forced to live in. They are human beings, they are allowed to have an opinion on their living situation just like anyone else. And if Joe Shmoe 23 y/o from U of Miami moved up to Buffalo, NY, I'm pretty sure no one would be surprised if he thought it was boring. Heck, I'm sure there's plenty of Patriots who might think Boston is boring compared to many other cities.

The thing is, since he's a professional, he has to be more mature than that and keep these things to himself. He sounds like a total, complete d-bag saying it.

Exactly, your being paid by the fans of that town to be seen and they buy your jerseys and make YOU famous. If you dont like the area keep your mouth shut or tell your friends that you hate it. You dont go to a national media outlet and say GODDAM DID THEY SUCK!

That just shows what you are as an individual.

What a jerk.

He is the best running back in the league and he can say whatever he wants

im a McGahee fan. Hes right..Buffalo is crap. i drove through upstate NY and Buffalo and that place is BORING. farms all the way up to Toronto

let him speak his mind..Buffalo is definatley not an entaining place but maybe he shouldnt have said it out load

After the reading the article, it was pretty clear that he has no sense of the place, and that he's sheltered. Buffalo is not Miami, it's not a lot of places. But I can guarantee you that McGahee never gave it a chance. Losman called out players like him who sit in strip mall heaven all day and play video games. And there are a lot of cities like Buffalo in the NFL. Let's not fool ourselves. Until recently, Providence (where a lot of Patriots camp out) was similar. But Baltimore, Detroit, St. Louis, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Kansas City, and even Houston to a degree (big city, but nothing going on downtown) are cities with not much going on downtown. Green Bay, of course, is a whole other story. Atlanta is DEAD downtown, but has some life to it in the suburbs. Nashville is great...if you like country music. Cleveland used to be in Buffalo's league, but supposedly it has come up in the world.

That's why I asked the question. None of these cities are going to compare to Miami. Obviously. I'm not sure why he thinks Baltimore is an improvement.

I laugh at people like you. You drove on the highway and saw farms, therefore it's boring? Good job, buddy. Where do you live, by the way?

All this shows is that he isn't the smartest guy in the world, but I think we already knew that. He let us know what his priorities are, and thats fine. What does he have to lose? It's not like there are legions of Bills fans that are going to turn on him and make his life miserable.

Going from Miami to Buffalo would be hard for almost anyone, I don't blame him one bit for feeling like he that. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be a young star football player and being ready for all the perks that come along with it and being sent to enjoy them in scenic Buffalo, that is cruel and unusual punishment if you ask me. That being said I doubt he will find Baltimore anywhere near as much fun as Miami...

Should he have kept his mouth shut? Obviously. This isn't worth getting worked up about and while it certainly tells a good deal about what kind of person he is I don't think it makes him classless.

I give you that. As I said, Buffalo isn't Miami. But look, Losman grew up in Los Angeles. It ain't LA either. At least Losman can seek out things to do and find ways to entertain himself. How much fn is it hanging out at TGI Fridays and playing video games? No wonder the guy is a mope. Hey, maybe visiting your kids would be a decent thing to do as well, rather than playing video games.

I really think what kills most Bills fans about this guy is that the Bills paid him millions to sit out and rehabilitate. The gave the guy a chance when no one else would, and when really they shouldn't have.

By the way, Ray Lewis and Reed went from Miami to Baltimore. Are they complaining about Baltimore? As someone who has lived in both cities, I can tell you they're not very different. Truth is, I prefer Buffalo for two reasons: it's prettier, and safer.

I'll look at the bright side, I got one or two laughs while reading this.

And as for Willis, big mother f**king deal. Your getting paid a sh!t load of money, the least you can do is pretend to appreciate the city.

Oh poor baby. What a difficult life it must have been, forced to play video games in his desperation.

He sounds like an idiot. Good luck in Baltimore buddy, enjoy the night life.

smacks of immaturity obviously. Of course with all the partying he wants to do, I hope the Ravens are ok with this. Possible future PFT "Turd List" candidate...

With that said, I do agree with BradyManny. It's one thing to think these things and it's quite another to say it out loud. We've all had thoughts in our mind that we've wanted to voice out but haven't because it's inappropriate. Mcgahee may learn this one day as well.

If I had that much money, I would just import women

That being said, I can't see a city, who's namesake was given to a chicken wing adorned with hot sauce as the result of being buried in snow during a blizzard, as being very fun. Now, on the other hand, Tampa Bay. . . . .GET UR DUN!!

Oh for God's sake.

Okay, I don't know Buffalo, but hell, any city over 50,000 has some nightlife. I don't think TGIFridays and Applebees was it. By the same token, I do know Baltimore, and lots of Washingtonians actually go up there to have a good time (mainly because the people are "normal.") Point is, there's lots to do there too.

But then, hey, if you're used to Miami, neon, thong bikinis, etc. etc., maybe not much can reproduce the experience. Maybe LA... um, who plays there again? Oh, that's right.

To hell with it. Here's hoping Willis really enjoys Fell's Point or something. In fact, let's hope he catches on the Baltimore night life the night before the Pats visit

Unreal. This coming from a gimp who almost lost his career to a horrific injury. To think I actually felt sorry for the guy watching him slip from a sure fire top 5 pick to being projected by many to be a 3rd rounder. Buffalo took a chance on him when noone else would in the first round.

I'm not saying McGahee owed them anything because he laid it out on the field and produced for them. But I will say he could of left with a little bit more class than he did with maybe a thank you for believing in me when noone else did. This ended badly for both sides. Especially for fans who find out the ugly truth of what he was all about. McGahee's rep just got uglier. Like it couldn't get any worse. Some things you just keep to yourself, but I forgot he believes he's better than LT,LJ,SJ. He said it himself.
