Mayo will be the new HC

We just need an OC that knows offense and a HC that gives him the authority to run it.
We need to usher this team into the modern NFL. All of the good teams out there (chiefs, bills, eagles, ravens) have a mobile qb who can extend plays with his legs and skill position players who can push the ball down the field. The offensive line is a mess, our best receiver is a castoff from the chiefs after he got hurt. This really isn’t much of a reset hiring someone from Bill’s tree.

Why can I not imagine Josh McDaniels putting his ego aside to be an assistant to a 37 year old coach?
I don’t want McDaniels. I’ve been of the mind that the Pats should go away from their old offense completely and get an OC cut from the more modern offenses.

That said, Josh is never going to be a head coach again. Three strikes.

If he wants to live in NE, I could see him settling in here for a while as OC with the QB of his choice.

Locking this thread since there is a new one.
