Maye must play

I don't think we ever are going to see Tyquan full potential until Drake plays.
Agreed. Brissett will never throw the deep ball well, especially as fast as Tyquan is. Tyquan is not a jump ball guy, with Tyquan the QB has to be accurate to exploit Tyquan's separation. That is not Brissett, but luckily Maye makes those throws look easy. Remarkable difference.

“The young quarterback is a delicate thing,” said Edelman. “It’s like nourishing a little bird in a nest.”

“(Jacoby) knows how to win games,” said Edelman. “He’s a great example for a young guy to learn from – on how he prepares, how he takes care of his body, his mannerisms in the meeting room, how he watches film. Drake (doesn’t) know how to do any of that yet.”
He's right. I think he can get guys pumped like saying " take em to the hill" when you want a game ending drive. But there will come tomes where a QB needs to make the throws to win or get in position to score. Drake gives us all the tools to do so. All he needs is in-game experience.. if somehow someway we are fortunate to be up big on a team this season I fully expect to see Drake.

Spot on! White I appreciate Brissett and all the intangible and exoer his brings. He's limited. Drake just offers so much more to the offense.. I mentioned before.. I feel like Drake has the "it" he never gets to high or to low.. his arm and his accuracy for a rookie is like what you'd see in a top 5 QB.. I believe by next season Drake will be the 2nd best QB in the AFCE and a top 10 qb in the league IMO.

Sounda about right. I would hazard a guess he will be the best QB by a longshot out of this draft and thats due to a couple of things. 1) Chicago not seeing that Williams needs more development time. He is waaaaaay behind the NFL game right now and 2) Daniels won't make it past week 7 if they have him running designed QB runs at the goal line when down by 20 with a minute to go.

You make some great points. Daniels is a good QB prospect but frail.. he needs to add some bulk to his frame. Williams has the play making abilities and the guys around him..but how much can he evaluate the team?

Turns out we took the right steps with Drake we we're teased by his abilities in the pre season.. as we were so starved of seeing great QB play.

Yes, sitting Maye for a grooming job will appease all those who thought Mac Jones was done wrong. But, he's not Jordan Love, or Bret Favre. They had talent ahead of them. And Peyton Manning still holds the all time worst rookie QB season. So if Drake has talent he will overcome some bumps in the road. Once I saw Brisste take a sack on 3rd down in FG range. I became a let's play Maye supporter.

Brissett's overall record showed that he never improved he is what he is a very average QB. IF the plan was to sit Maye we should have got a QB like Gardner Minshew as a bridge way better option than Brissett.

I don't think we ever are going to see Tyquan full potential until Drake plays. until Bob Kraft stops being a cheap ass, and they bring in professional level offensive linemen who aren't instantly defeated on every pass play.
Fixed.

They're the same player.

Jacoby is a floor raiser but is a low ceiling guy. We need to get Drake in there to win games vs good teams.

Yes. Yesterday was a perfect example the entire WR corps had 19 yards!!!! Geno Smith isn't some HOF QB he's a decent QB with guys that get open and help him and the O line. Drake does that for this offense. How many 120 yards passing are we going to endure.

They're the same player.
except Mishew needed 30 fewer games for more TD and only little less passing yards

Eye test says that Minshew is MUCH better.

Was he inactive last game? Unreal. How many games are we going to win with 120 pass yards?
It is a bit of a problem, even over here it is pretty obvious that the pass game needs cranking up quite a bit....in fact quite a big bit.

League average is about 260-275.. passing yards.. we average 120 in that range... while it's definitely encouraging to see Henry Have a big day.. Tyquan is out there for his speed to take coverage..

I think playing Maye now would be a knee jerk reaction. I understand fans wanting him to play. But if he not ready, it could be lamb's to the slaughter. Mayo has to hang on in there.

Yeah manning threw the most ints ever his rookie year, know an issue that plagued him his entire career? Throwing ints at the worst possible time. I mean he turned into at least a top 10 all time qb so its hard to argue results but he had 9! 1 and dones with at least 7 of those his team being one of if not the best team in the NFL. How much better could he have been if he had sat some of his rookie year to work on his issues?

I view manning as the exception that proves the rule, if you want your QB to reach thier full top 20 qb of all time potential they need to sit and learn the NFL from a veteran at least half of thier rookie year. My personal preference for Maye would be until the bye which is really late this year But 4 games getting his feet wet with zero expectations? Sounds perfect.
