Max # of losses to be able to win the top seed?

Yeah, Brady was never the 10th seed in the last week of November.
Doesn’t matter. Kelce is most likely retiring at the end of the season and the league does huge numbers when Taylor Swift shows up. The league is not letting KC miss the playoffs. The question is who will they bump out for KC.

4-1 minimum it is then. 3-2 and our odds for the bye drop by a lot.

If the Broncos and Pats win out I think the Broncos win the tiebreaker due to better record in common opponent games. So we're not in control of our destiny yet just gotta keep winning.

I think 3 is the number, feels like we need to finish 4-1 and no worse.
The NFL should going forward take into consideration what used to matter not sure if it still does of conference records? Common opponents seems pretty vague..?

Denver has 3 potential losses to GB, KC and LAC who will be fighting for their playoff lives. I would be surprised if they pulled a 2004 Steelers who refused to drop another game.

The Pats run D is becoming a concern and Cook could run wild in his next meeting with NE. I'd feel comfortable with 1, but not 2 and it they can't be to AFC teams.
Was thinking the exact same thing watching chase brown run at will.. the leaks on the run D.. started the TB game.. they have been excellent all year against the run.. without milt and Tonga the run D is gonna slip up.. I'm expecting cook to run wild and Henry as well..

I think it still does for wildcard and conference seeding. Both Pats and Broncos if they win out will have 2 losses in the conference.

For division winners common opponents comes before conference seeding. This was changed in 2002 I think and that's how the Pats found themselves on the outside that year. Pats had a better conference record but the Jets beat the Packers and the Pats didn't and that was the difference.

Thanks SB.. much appreciated. I noticed alot of things changed and morphed over the years of our supremacy in the NFL. This team shouldn't fear going on the road.. they have been the best road team in the league all year. Of course you want to host a playoff game and they likely will as a division winner. But even with a loss to the bills have to still take care of business against Miami and jets..

Just win baby.

Common opponents isn't vague at all. It's the opponents that both teams faced. It just doesn't always apply because teams don't always have enough common opponents (4 games each).

Whatever the metric.. the NFL uses it's format and all I'm saying is it needs to be tweaked.. they had no problems tweaking the rules for us when Bill polian cried.. all I'm saying there..

We cannot afford to lose again.
Agreed. It's essentially a race between Denver and us for the top spot... if say by the next 2 weeks.. if it's apparent we are stuck at 2.. does Vrabel rest guys?

The only way they're "stuck at 2" is if they lose their next two games and DEN wins both. . . . And then they'd have to be fighting off BUF for the division.

Agreed.. we have everything in front of us.. the path, drive, motivation, the coaching.. everything is there for us NOT to let up!!

Just fekkin' win. It's not hard. It doesn't need to be tweaked IMO, everyone gets the same rules, it's not at all like Polian crying about rule changes.

"...you wanna change the rules? Change 'em. We still play. And we win."

The advantage Denver has is that 3 out of the last 4 games are at home whereas the Pats have 2. Pats have 2 games against potential playoff opponents where the Broncos are against all 4. It's going to be a wild finish.

I know... just saying that's all.. are you sure everyone gets the same rules.??
