First, I agree with the sentiment of "**** Goodell", which is a given.

Secondly, I think the Saints may be a dark horse candidate as a trading partner for Jimmy.

The Saints reportedly loved Jimmy when he was in the draft, and they have had joint practices with the Pats at least twice since then, so they have had an up close look at Jimmy since, as much as any other team has, although the Bears saw him for a week last season as well.

The Saints wouldn't get a special price, and it would likely cost a 1st and 2nd plus, but BB would probably prefer to trade him to an NFC team, and the relationship with the Saints would give them an edge.

Now if thst were to happen, what could the Saints get if they were to trade Brees?

They could potentially get their franchise QB age reset at minimal to no cost.

Yeah I think SP knows he can handle a good offence, and a solid francise QB in the right environment. The NFC you bought up is interesting. Didnt think about that.
I tend to agree that BB dosnt give a special price even with friends. I dont see that happening with the saints...
Unless BB wants some of our WR's in the trade. We have always had very good picks or prospects on our WR core
Saints have ultimate combo at WR: Young, cheap and really good

Though I dont see a Michael Thomas trade happening. Cook, maybe.

I see Brees traded for better than Brett Farve and PM, because they set the standard , and every team knows what they are getting. Brees will hit the floor running and instantly make a team valid. Dangerious if they have a defense. Denver might be a good trade. Would not suprise me to get 2 1 picks over 3 years. A 1st and 2nd pick with another 2nd, and im positive they would eat the dead money.

Part of SP talking to BB could also to not trade Brees to a AFC team, like the Jets, Bills, etc that might effect something.
I do think SP has BB ear, and SP said this week "We are always looking at the QB position"
So yeah its a posibility we could get a reset.
