I can 100% tell you that if we had gotten Michael Bennett that he would be here.

Don’t be silly. He’s going to the Eagles. They’re fun.

They didn’t want to pay his roster bonus. He might come back under a new deal

They're clearing cap space anyway they can. I am hoping we find a way and resign solder.

Yeah, having both of the Bennett brothers here would’ve been great for the locker room.

Not saying you’re wrong, but what have they done to “clear any cap space they can”? There was no reason to pay him that bonus.

Agree. This wasn't a surprise - his 2017 production, age, and the fact that he's coming off two injuries were pretty clear signs the Pats weren't going to pay that much. The bigger question is if both sides are interested in a return and if a cheaper price is possible. I'd be very happy if something could be worked out; his market might not be as large as other players due to how he's apparently burned bridges in many locales... pretty much everywhere he played except New England.

His deal is just too much for his current value. He will have to take a major cut to come back. I doubt he will want to keep playing at his current worth, and no team trusts him to give him money up front.

I agree. It’s so crazy that we will never see it again in our lifetime. Having fun and winning a championship is far more impressive than anything Bill has accomplished. Throw in having to deal with that temper tantrum havin’ bitch at QB and I wouldn’t want to get paid millions to play at NE either!

I don't think they are related. They were not paying Marty $6m with/without Gronk

    Solder turns 30 in April.

Anything more than a 2 year deal for similar money is dumb. Bill knows this.

    If he walks he walks.
