Breaking New England Patriots Team News
1. I am and have been a big Boutte supporter

2. Boutte hasn't had to fight in a talent-crowded room yet.

It's hard to feel confident on his worth knowing that. Say he plays for the Pats this year, when we have Brown and Doubs. Would Boutte have as much opportunity/yards?

I'm not a numbers geek like other good posters here, but there are good points concerning Boutte's inability to get open.

Boutte plays a lot of snaps with a top QB to be posting his numbers.

Yeah Boutte would probably do better as the #3/4 option, but those players won't make what he's likely asking.

So far with the limited information we have as the season actually starts to get underway its obvious this will be a better team than last years. There are still some needs and questions to be answered as the race to week one begins but so far so good. I do think there may be a move or two the team does before the season or early into the season. I bet and hope Drake and some of the skill players plan to get together before camp gets underway like they did last year and Bourne had a ton of video footage (hope someone puts it up on social media), just something for us to look at under a microscope until camp starts. Focus for now is getting Gonzalez locked up and get the Jacas contract signed hopefully before July 24th.

I don't think he's a #2 either but at the same time I don't want to be rid of him just yet; not until either the end of TC or somebody like Diggs is signed... Too bad the team didn't draft even one WR to soften the blow of a possible early Booty departure...
It looks increasingly likely that Boutte stays and Diggs is not re-signed. This is a big year for us and I don't see us giving away a receiver like Boutte. What if AJ, Doubs, or Hollins goes down?

Worst case is he walks after this season and we get a 4th or 5th round comp pick when somebody signs him to a nice contract.

Nothing has changed really, the Pats are not in a rush unless Boutte starts griping in the media. He could be retained, it’s just as likely he and others get moved before the 53 man cutdown. Let other teams deal with an injury or realize they’re thin at WR, maximize his value.

I think his value here is greater than trading him for a late pick.
Unless we are blown away with an offer.
One caveat, the development of KW could certainly change the direction.
iIf we were to trade him, I would take that as an encouraging sign in regards to KW’s progress.

He is exactly that insurance here. Brown goes down with a knee...then what? Good team don't trade away depth like that. He ain't going anywhere.

Saw a Mini camp clip of KW running the whip route he looks realy good. If KW can get the shorter routes down; he's going to be very dangerous.
