Breaking New England Patriots Team News
I would love to see this data, please do share. And it did not seem to effect him last year where he was noticably better in the second half than the first half despite his playoff performance. If true, I would be much more concerned if he was a true speed guy. He is a contested catch monster with great strength and great hands. I do not see that going away anytime soon.
I agree he is a contested catch guy now, but AJB ran a 4.49 sec 40 at the combine which is fast for a guy his size. You can easily query ChatGPT - see my post above.

And if you take his word for it, Brown told Gronk & Edelman in that interview a few months ago, that he has run a 4.42 in the past

I typed this into ChatGPT "Has aj brown in game speed data decreased over the last few years?", and the response was:

The most direct “speed-like” signal I found was a public post citing Next Gen Stats-style tracking: Brown reportedly reached 15+ mph on 29.0% of plays in 2023, 26.7% in 2024, and 21.1% in 2025.

I then typed in "What has been romeo doubs top speed in the last few years?", and the response was:

Doubs has been around a 21.1–21.3 mph peak-speed player when measured publicly. That is good NFL WR speed, but not Tyreek/Waddle/DK-level 22+ mph speed.

I then typed in "What has been Kayshon Bloutte's top speed in the last few years?", and the response was:

My best read: Boutte is not a verified 21+ mph NFL-speed guy from public data, at least not in the way Doubs is with the reported 21.15 mph number. Boutte’s value looks more like vertical-route technique, tracking, body control, and outside “X” receiver play, not elite raw top speed.

I did not dig deep into the AI response by quering ChatGPT multiple times or cross-checking against Grok.
This means nothing. You clearly asked in a way that fits your agenda. You do realize the type of routes he is running would have a greater impact on this question than any loss of speed would. Why don't you ask what his top 10 measured speeds were last year compared to 2024. That will give us a much better barometer if his speed has fallen than the question you asked.

It is tough for me to believe any diva WR since I am not a card carrying member of the Cult of Verticality.

So easy to run a 40 with a manual stopwatch, not a computer generated start and finish, and the time can vary wildly with a friendly stopwatch.

No need for me to ask ChatGPT. You can type it in ChatGPT if you do not like my query. You can query any phrase you like if you believe I was errant. Let everyone know.

Your qualifications are still being verified by Home land security it might take a while.

I did a search for AJ Brown’s top speed in 2024 & 2025, and Brown reached a higher speed in 2024 as far as an actual NFL plays. The 2025 data I pulled from a search said he reached 22 mph during an offseason private workout, so who knows. The data from 2024 doesn’t mention his average speeds during the 2024 seasons, so tough to compare.

A.J. Brown reached a top speed of 21.05 MPH during the 2024 NFL regular season. [1, 2]
He hit this maximum speed on a 67-yard touchdown reception against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1. [1, 2]

A.J. Brown reached a top speed of 22 MPH during offseason private workouts in 2025. While playing for the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2025 NFL season, his maximum in-game tracking speeds were frequently clocked in the range of 18 to 19.9 MPH, hitting speeds above 19 MPH in 13.33% of his games.

So, basically Brown may have lost 5% top speed between 2024 to 2025 which also may have been a side effect from his dissatisfaction with his situation and likely reduced motivation and maximum effort. Yep, sounds like a good enough reason for some to begin the funeral procession, bury him in June and lament the sad state of the team's personnel moves. Gotta love it.

I was clean via an Internet background check last week. I am clean I promise, and I will tell that to Gronk and Jules too.

It’s tough to tell if he lost 5%, I didn’t see the data on 2024’s AVERAGE speed throughout the season.

Looks like it was similar to 2025

Speed Metrics Context
Tracking data from Next Gen Stats illustrates how his burst varied throughout the 2024 season:
  • Over 19 mph: Brown hit this top-speed threshold in 53.85% of his games.
  • Over 18 mph: He reached this mark in 76.92% of his games. [1]

It is not the number of games he missed, it is how much he slows down. Look at the in-game speed data to understand.
Just checking to see if you are going to continue *****ing about AJ in every post for the entire season or if you are getting it out of your system now. Asking for a friend

We see contract issues every year, they always get worked out one way or another.

Only discussing. Sorry you feel threatened.

Brown may end up being an extroverted Moss.
