Patriots Injury News Mack Hollins Nearing Return?

Status
Not open for further replies.

Core muscles have caused a couple of serious injuries and a couple of surgeries for him after he was drafted. Pats have not revealed details but it sounds consistent with another core muscle injury with a lengthy recovery. Hopefully he doesn't need surgery but the 3 weeks he's had weren't enough.

Not opening the IR-window today? Or this week? Can it be opened tomorrow?
Yea that was my question. I'm guessing they won't activate him as not sure what difference a day makes.

Question....by closing the IR window and allowing him to practice, do they need to make a corresponding roster move?

The last I knew, he could practice for three weeks before being activated. With how often rules are changing, I’m not positive that’s still true but think it is.

He's done for this year

Well H Henry cannot afford a measly 5 yards this week. Can we see say Pop and Chism Time??

Allowing him to practice is separate from activating him to the roster. It gives them 3 weeks to either activate or revert to season-ending IR. My understanding is they can open the 3-week window any time.

Thanks, guys. I did know the 3 week window but wasn't sure if there was some kind of recent rule change.

That is what is odd. They can activate him and it lasts for 3 weeks which covers the Super Bowl, so why not activate him? What harm is there in that? Hollins could be having a final medical test today or tomorrow so the Drs. might clear him yet this week and he can be activated in time for the Broncos game? They don't want to activate him before final medical clearance? Did any of the sports reporters ask? Why cant the sports reporters simply ask if that means Hollins is OUT for the AFCCG?

Seems as though you're gettin' your money's worth

Would he be good to go if we make it to the SB?? It would an extra two weeks.
Entirely speculative. I personally don’t expect he’ll play Sunday, but the SuperBowl is different. Vrabel thought that 4 games was a reasonable time to reevaluate, and now he’ll have another 3 weeks. So, as far as we know, it is possible.
