Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

Yeah but Bill got something back for him, didn't he?
Good question it may have been a late rounder like a 6th? I'll say the best news as far as the WR is juju being not available. I just want to evaluate what's left on this roster. I want to see Boutte play. Even if we somehow won Sunday by a miracle then to get embarrassed next week at Buffalo.

I'm not watching if it's Zappe. Same as how I felt about the Hoyer/Stidham game in KC, it's not entertaining and there's nothing to take from that game. We already know everything about Zappe, he is not an NFL starting QB and never will be. I don't want Bill to just play out the string I want BB to take something from what is looking like a lost season. Grier at least gives us a chance to see someone new and maybe something to take forward so I'd watch if it's him.
Agreed, Cunningham would give some excitement.. I know he's not a finished product but he could get outside the pocket and make plays. This team right now is just awful and now the defense has been affected by the inept offense.

A stat line with an INT is "flawless"? Uh no. And is there a reason to think Mac wouldn't have bettered 188 yards and 1 TD 1 INT when handed 6 fourth down stops? Or not at least duplicated Zappe's Browns game? There's no reason at all to think so. So why is Zappe an upgrade over Jones again?
I don't have a dog in the fight, but that INT was 100% Agholors fault, not Zappe's. It was a well thrown ball.

Don't blame them for not drafting AJ Brown. He had some major red flags and a lot of teams passed on him. You can blame them for drafting Harry over Deebo Samuel though. That should have been the pick and Deebo thought he was being drafted by the Patriots.

I thought DK Metcalf was the guy that had the question marks, he was the guy i wanted to stay away from but I was all in on AJ Brown

His scouting reports all emphasized how he was the most polished route runner in the entire draft, to go along with his big frame and great hands.. really not sure how he fell (which the red flags thing would make sense, i just dont recall from memory but my memory sucks these days!)

Its looking like Josh McDaniels might have been pretty good at coordinating an offense, cause we looked like a legit NFL offense with a rookie QB that was alternate pro bowler with a good year at 10-6 with a playoff birth

and now we look like a big, stinky turd roasting out in the sun

It's so hard to keep track of which posters blames which player/coach for us sucking. I don't know why people think things need to be mutually exclusive. Mac has sucked, the offensive line has sucked, the receivers have sucked, the running backs have sucked, the play calling has sucked, the roster construction has sucked, and Bill has sucked. All those things can be true.
They are all true in my mind, which is I think it is a waste of time to try to "turn things around this season." We are obviously in a very serious rebuild over a much more extended period of time than the remainder of the season. The entire focus should be on evaluating what we have, on laying the groundwork for Bill to be deprived of all prerogatives and responsibility for GM work starting right now, and on making decisions re re-signing/trading/etc. players whose contracts are up. This season's record is irrelevant to all of this. In fact, though I think it unethical to "tank," it is a fact that worse the season, the better our draft position. It is what it is, as we used to say around here, back in the days when we were capable of honesty, though to be frank it used to be a lot less painful to be honest.

I don't suppose we can take much comfort in the likelihood we will soon look like a big, stinky turd steaming in the snow.

I think I said it in one of these threads today but they don't even really have to change much to tank. What they are doing right now already has them with a top 5 pick. Maybe in a couple weeks if we see them trade away Bourne, Gesecki, Uche, etc for picks then we will know they are actively trying but I won't hold my breath.

I wish there were some way to get the new GM in place NOW to aid in making such decisions. Really, the work of whoever will be the GM next year does begin NOW. Just based on the record, I'd rather have the new GM handle all that, starting now. If we have, as I hope we have, decided that Bill is out as GM, then I wish we would ACT on that now. If Bill is out, in other words, it makes no sense for a new GM not to have very strong input into the many roster decisions we will be making very, very soon. Bill will object, I suppose. He might even bow out of both the HC and the GM jobs this season. Frankly, I could live with that. Once again, this year's record is pretty much meaningless, except insofar as it affects draft position, making losses effectively wins. I do not support tanking, but neither do I feel in the least guilty about welcoming a high draft pick..

He is undefeated as a starter and posted a 100+ QB Rating. It doesn’t matter who he played, unless he looked terrible… he didn’t. He didn’t make the schedule.

He came into the rainy Bears game and engineered the only TD’s scored that day after Mac did nothing. Then the entire team collapsed.
Lol of course you ignore the fact he was cut in training camp because he couldn’t handle an actual NFL offense.

Teams don't tank on purpose (the Colts excepted) they still try and get better as the year goes on, if they keep doing what they're doing though it might look like a tank job.

You'd think our team is trying to do so. I never ever thought it would get this bad. After RK sending a letter to the fans, announcing a search for a new OC, announcing working on a contract with Mayo.. I thought Mac looked dejected.. BB looks dejected as well. He sees the end..

32 teams don't pass on a good QB that they can get for virtually free either. Nobody values this guy except for people who are just hoping for a miracle
And the delusional like Triumph. Case in point:
But Zappe is no good.

The Mac fans told me so.

I mean you are talking about a dude that literally accused me of rigging the last Presidential election so he didn't have to honor the bet we made. He clearly isn't playing with a full deck.
