Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

Trey Lance started two games in the last two seasons and went 2-2. Johnson had 2 pass attempts last year. Mullens was on the team last 3 years ago. Beathard started 2 games with the Niners after 2018. Hoyer was there back in 2017. Like wtf? This isn't remotely comparable to what the Niners are now.
The instant JimmyG joined the team they went 5-0 with him as the starter.

Facts aren't your friend.

Agreed, as I've said it all ends how it starts.. 1st superbowl was a defensive masterpiece, last superbowl was one as well. BBs coaching career as HC started out loosing, ending loosing.
Teams that rebuild tend to lose. I could argue the Patriots were actually middling for 3 year until 2003. A lot of fortuitious things happened on the way to the 2001 SB. That 2001 playoff would've been the blip up like the 2021 playoff year if they let the tuck rule fumble stand. But this team isn't the 2003 team for 1 main reason: we don't have Brady. But those teams did have excellent defenses that won a lot of games

Okay.... and. A good QB can help a team that is on the edge. The Patriots aren't on the edge. They are bad.

You want to compare Mac to Purdy who is in a better situation than anybody you mentioned.

You can't even keep your arguments on track and want to talk about facts lol. Fact, you screamed all off season about how the talent on this team is good. The statistics (which are facts) outright say that is not the case independent of the QB. You can't accept facts when they don't suit you.

Drafting Harry over A.J. Brown - Boney T over the stout George Pickens plus passing on Lamar Jackson just to name a few.
You had me up until the end. Have you been watching Jackson? He blows as a QB but he's great as a runner. Well, he's great if he doesn't fumble... again. Every day I wake up super happy that Bill made the "mistake" of passing on Jackson, just like a lot of other teams.

And actually, I like that he ended up with the Ratbirds. They're stuck with each other now. As they say, birds of a feather flock together.

No matter how bad the offence is, the fact that the QB can not lead the team to 1 TD in two games is atrocious ! The excuses are getting tiresome. We do have some decent playmakers, maybe not great but if we had a competent QB, we could have won a couple of games out of the four losses we have. Mac lost those games for us in the first 5 mins because he insist on throwing the other team a TD !!!

You couldn't tell the difference between a team on the edge versus a bad team when their QB in playing the worst football in the entire league.

It's funny how QB is the most position in football, we hear this all the time... yet when Mac plays horrendously, it's not his fault.

The fact is the 2017 49ers lost ten out of eleven games, had one win... they inserted JimmyG and won the final five in a row and scored the highest point totals on the season.

Again... facts suck for you.

If they were smart they should tank for Caleb. Bill will win a few meaningless games like he did in 2020 to take us out of that discussion
Exactly like the Jets beating the Rams to lose the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes

You couldn't tell this was a bad team so why should I care what you think.

Fact, I said this was a bad team and would suck this year. Fact you said that wasn't the case. Fact, what I said happened and you were wrong. End. Of. Story.

It's 2023, you got called out for comparing Mac to a QB playing on the incredibly talented 2023 49'ers. You and your brilliant wisdom ran back to 6 years ago to make some argument that I wasn't making.

At the end of the day reality answered the question. We had this debate, you were wrong and all available data points say you are wrong. Facts don't support you. They never did. It's what happens when you were a massive homer who slobbers over everyone decision the front office makes. You got caught with your pants down. You aren't credible enough to evaluate talent or question anybody else's ability to evaluate talent when you were completely wrong in your assessment for a year.

Now move along so the people that actually called this for what it was can have an intelligent conversation and don't need to listen to a fanboy trying to save face for making a bunch of statements that blew up in your face.

You can get back to me when you build a time machine and aren't consistently factually wrong all off season and making us all miserable over it.

But until then, your predictions fell on their face and the team is untalented. Now take a hike. Because the facts haven't worked for you for a long time. Now stop trying to gaslight all of us for your shortcomings at football evaluations.

Saw some clips with Albert Breer earlier. A couple points:

1. Defensive players have been calling Mac out in practice for doing things he shouldn't do because they'd become turnovers in a game for weeks, but then he does them anyway. So team is has been losing confidence in him over time
2. Comments from "source close to Mac" - has been a thing with him going back to Alabama. When things aren't going well, "sources close to Mac" come out to go to bat for him and tell people how it's not him, it's everyone else.

It's Breer, so he may be full of ****, but he's got a scoop sometimes with the Pats.

I hope to Gawd that Grier gets a shot just so the people who think he's some hidden gem will skink back under whatever rock they.crawled out from under.
He can't do any worse than Corky.

I hear you but it doesn’t matter. The word got out and it creates distrust between Mac and the locker room. Whether it’s true or not, it creates uncertainty.

Mac should probably try for some damage control and vehemently push back against the notion.
Here’s the thing: the locker room will ‘know’ (strongly suspect) if it’s true or not based on their relationship.

I don’t care who is at QB as long as it’s not Mac Jones
This. Mac Jones can go somewhere else and fulfill his Andy Dalton level potential there. He’s annoying to watch play.

If that’s true, he shouldn’t play another down for the Patriots

Mac has bottomed out, lost all confidence, but you don't want to replace Mac. You'd rather just lose, concede the season, whine and moan.

Then why are you bothering to lose debates with me and argue on behalf of Mac?

If Mac isn't the problem, if Zappe or Grier wouldn't be a marked improvement because they team itself is so horribly bad... then why do care?

It shouldn't matter who starts to you.

Mac Jones is really bad. Fans need to understand that here; he is sucking the energy from this team. He is corrosive. The idea that he'd be better IF is just nonsense.

In Brady's first year, he was not yet the Brady we knew. Simply put: we removed a guy who was failing us in Bledsoe, and we went to a turnover averse offense that gave the rest of the team a chance to win games. We didn't see the fruits of this until 2003 when it all came together.

Sometimes your QB is indeed a huge impediment, and even the former 4th string QB and future superstar just needs to stand up and perform like an average guy for it to come together as it did in 2001.
Bill did not remove Bledsoe, Moe Lewis did. For all we know Bill was going to let Bledsoe keep going.

Bill's Pats record was 5-13 to start and there were many changes in 2001, not just to the "4th string" QB. But with that QB at the helm the team went 11-3 the rest of the season and 3-0 in the playoffs. That's much better than average.

I don’t care who is at QB as long as it’s not Mac Jones
Fair enough. For me I’m ok with a replacement as long as it’s not Zappe. I won’t be watching if it is.
