Please tell me no one in here used the words "Brady-like" to describe Mac, even if they qualified it first.
man, it was just said in passing, about how some of...

i can't

i just can't bear to repeat it... it was that horrible

Can you imagine the self satisfaction if Mac ever pans out to be as good as Kirk Cousins?

I'd rather have a 3rd year Tony Eason instead of Mac.
What a weird thing to say. It’s strange to be a “anyone but Mac” person just because. So, if all of a sudden he starts settling down and they start winning, you’re still going to wish they had somebody else?

I just seriously don’t get it. I mean, that’s obviously your prerogative, but it’s just weird that you’ve already written him off to the point where even if he does well, you don’t want him.

i dont need to twist myself into anything to see a team that cant score more than 20 ppg.

Its actually quite simple - just look at the score board after the game.

So can we agree that Stevenson is a crap back and should be cut. He plays a huge role in not being able to get more than 20 points. He can barely get two yards past the line of scrimmage. He sucks.

See how this works.

Any objective person who watched these games know it isn't Mac Jones who is the problem with the offense. Even Mac Jones haters like Mazz and Jim Murray are saying this. No one is tougher on Mac than Jim Murray and he think Mac Jones has played well this year. Hell, even Rex Ryan has said he was impressed with the "Pea Shooter" after week #1.

LOL! I don't know what he is. Neither do you.

He has 1,225 dropbacks in the NFL, all under the same head coach, who you have long considered to have DeVeLoPeD Brady and who was the most awesome awesomest of awesomeness at coaching QBs/offense up, according your ilk.

But yeah absolutely no idea what we have here. I can’t believe people are trying to posit an opinion on a player with only 1,000+ pass attempts

I think there are people on this board who would rather be right that he sucks than have him succeed and turn this team into a Super Bowl contender.

LOL! I don't know what he is. Neither do you. You have an opinion, but it doesn't mean it is right. I have an opinion that I think he could be a top 15 QB or top 10 QB if he had the right pieces around him. But neither one of us know for sure if we are right. It is just a guess based on what our opinions or biases are.

I am willing to admit it. You twist yourself in knots manufacturing reasons why screw ups by other people are Mac's fault to suit your opinion.
Didn't you call Mac an "undeniable... NFL starting caliber QB" a couple days ago? You're being fake here.

If that was the case, Tua would no longer be in Miami, and Josh Allen would’ve been run out of town in Buffalo. Those same people who had negative opinions of both players after a similar number of plays changed their minds once they added more explosive, play makers and gave those guys a fighting chance.

does Rham touch the ball on every play?

No, i guess he doesn't at that...

If there is nothing further, im going to bow out of this.

I'm tired of being personally insulted by you, and im more than sure people are tired of seeing this back and forth, if it hasn't already been muted.

have a nice day rob.

He has had the same OC too. I forgot about that. I mean Patricia was so good at OC despite Mac Jones that Bill Belichick had to beg his friend in Philly to take Patricia as a defensive position coach.

Ummm..... He touches the ball on most running plays and the Patriots have one of the worst running offenses in the league.

And you have thrown enough insults back at me. So stop acting like you are a victim.

True, except Tua, Allen, and Mac are all following the same projected development curves that scouts expected. For the record I think Tua sucks.

It’s just bizarre to me. Obviously, who knows how it’s ultimately going to go, but if this first iteration of quarterback is any indication, Lord only knows what life is going to be like if this drags on with multiple guys for years to come. I may pull out the rest of what’s left of my hair.

I mean, after a 10 win season, people were already done with Mac after three games into his second season. That still boggles my mind.

Trevor Lawrence had Urban Meyer in year 1. Complete train-wreck. Many QBs have had failed OCs/coached early in their careers. Who cares? We’re going to see a slightly different selection of formations and routes with different coordinators; they don’t control the QB like it’s a PlayStation. We see what Mac is, regardless of OC.

Geno Smith would be out of the league. Rich Gannon and Kurt Warner would never have gotten MVPs or Super Bowls (for the latter).

Do you really believe our skill guys are lacking this year? I mean sure we don't have a Hill or Diggs but I think this is by far the best set of skill guys in the last few years.

Hold on, so Trevor Lawrence is still terrible? I don’t understand this argument. You first seemed to made a good point about the difference between one player in a bad situation, becoming a better player in a better situation only to say that you learn about what the player is regardless of the situation…?

I do in that they don’t have a guy they can consistently count on in a key situation (ie:third down). And so far, nobody has shown a sign yet of evolving into that role. I think that’s going to be the most important thing to keep an eye on over these next couple of games.

And Trevor Lawrence sucked year one didn't he? And guess what? He played worlds better in year two with a much better head coach and a system designed for him.

And even then it took a good portion of the season in his second year before he started to play. If you look at the first half of Lawrence's season last year, he had five games where he completed under 60% of his passes. In his first nine games last year, he only had 11 total TDs (finished the season with 25). Lawrence didn't start to show the promise he had until late November of last year.

More that anything, I’m coming around to the take that there just isn’t enough around him on the OL, or skill positions. If even one of those issues was upgraded Mac might look a while lot better.

Another interesting, and unexpected thing I noticed re-watching that last game is that he looked BETTER when rolling out and throwing on the run.

Put that high on things I did not have on my bingo card.

Wouldn’t shock me to see some designed bootlegs sprinkling in

I think they can count on Henry and Bourne. I also think Pop has shown some real ability and I am just hoping Bill does not bench him for this game due to the fumble.
