He's actually off to his best start in his three seasons, statistically.

Are you going to do this after every game? How did he compare statistically through one game?

Absolute clown argument. Let Cousins walk for the highest fully guaranteed NFL contract at the time. Plus a 3rd year tag was about 35M.
Think back to 2018. Who was making 35 million a year?

And you say my argument is a clown argument... it's what happened.

Name one QB who has been tagged x3...

Come on people this isn't that hard.

When I say he is standing right there, what I mean is Mac is looking right him. He’s standing behind the line and then he starts to inch up tipping he is going to rush. There is no disguise to the blitz at all. Mac has to see that and either call time out or reset the protection.

And he was right in front of Strange. Strange had a clear view of Long since there was no lineman in front of him.

Stop making this a Mac Jones mistake. This was 100% on Strange deciding to double the inside guy and not looking at the blitzer.

I agree with you. Anyone arguing the Redskins let him walk is making the clown argument. I guess the satire didn't come through.

How can someone say the league considered him average when he signed the largest at the time fully guaranteed contract? It's like up is down.

No. It's his poor play at times.

He is so bad that even good plays in your mind are horrible plays. I mean you think him completing a 14 yard pass on 3rd and 7 where he stood in the pocket and made a throw even though he knew he was going to get hit right after he threw was going to get hit was bad pocket presence.

then i apologize. i mis-read your post. mea culpa

Can you imagine the self satisfaction if Mac ever pans out to be as good as Kirk Cousins?

I'd rather have a 3rd year Tony Eason instead of Mac.

please do not ascribe things I have not said to me.

The bottom line is 16-17 overall, 0-2 this season. 0-2 in what should have been winnable games.

Want to convince me Mac deserves the accolades you think he is due? You can't.

But he can. By winning. By playing mistake free football. By scoring in the first quarter. By not starting to come awake in the 2nd quarter... by not getting this team into a 10-14 point deficits before we score our first points of the game.

By scoring more than 17 points.

By beating a good team.

Then doing it all over again the next week, and the next until everyone gets sick of hearing his name.

nightmares tonight, no doubt.

Its the QB's job to alert the linemen of the blitz. The QB is literally just standing there waiting for the ball surveying the defense. Strange is thinking about helping out his fellow lineman because that is what the play called for. Once that LB tipped he was coming, it's Mac's job to reset the protection or call time out.

You listed that play as one of the plays against the Dolphins where Jones showed poor pocket awareness. I am ascribing things to you that you said.

Again, I don't know what Mac Jones is. He can be as bad as you think he is. I tend to doubt it. But since his rookie year, he hasn't been able to show what he truly is because of the crap Belichick has been serving him. Last year it was a horrible OC and some really bad line play. This year it is atrocious line play.

I am not trying to convince you Mac Jones deserves any accolades. I just don't want you to put blame on him where he clearly isn't at fault.

If Mac Jones is ever given a fair shot to show what he truly is if this o-line ever stops being a disaster, he could fail miserably. I am not leaving that out of the realm of possibility. I think he could be pretty good if he actually had time to throw and his receivers can get open and hold onto the ball, but that is no guarantee.

But you are saying he has poor pocket awareness when all he has shown this year is the opposite. You are basing your opinion based on a long stretch last year where he did have really bad pocket awareness. That is my only point.

I agree with Michael Felger. We may end this season without actually knowing what we have in Mac Jones because of the situation Belichick created.

It is the offensive lineman's job to block. And also Andrews calls most of the line assignments.

Stop blaming Mac for this. It wasn't his fault. He did nothing wrong on this play. It was 100% on Andrews.

And again, if Long didn't get the sack, Chubb or Van Ginkel would have because the o-line broke down all over the place on that play and Mac didn't have a chance.

Oh please Stop it with that fake "im on the fence about Mac" shtick - its a bald faced lie and quite unbecoming, considering your fervid defense of him.

it's possible that the linemen did not see the LB cheat up which is why Mac needs to see that and reset the protection. If the QB can't recognize a blitz than there is no point having him back there as teams are just going to keep blitzing ...

LOL! I don't know what he is. Neither do you. You have an opinion, but it doesn't mean it is right. I have an opinion that I think he could be a top 15 QB or top 10 QB if he had the right pieces around him. But neither one of us know for sure if we are right. It is just a guess based on what our opinions or biases are.

I am willing to admit it. You twist yourself in knots manufacturing reasons why screw ups by other people are Mac's fault to suit your opinion.

So the lineman who was staring right at the LB didn't see him cheat up, but you want the guy who is staring at David Andrews ass while calling the snap count to see it? Stop it! You are embarrassing yourself.

If you cannot admit that play was 100% on Strange and the o-line, you have no objectivity. And wasn't even just Strange. The entire o-line failed on that play. Three defenders were in the backfield and on Mac Jones immediately.

i dont need to twist myself into anything to see a team that cant score more than 20 ppg.

Its actually quite simple - just look at the score board after the game.

and we see you are willing to fight to the death to protect his reputation as .... what exactly... i mean you're already describing him as almost "Brady-like"... think hes ever going to win the division? i dont.
Please tell me no one in here used the words "Brady-like" to describe Mac, even if they qualified it first.

I did it after two games which seemed like a reasonable sample size. But, no, it’s not a week by week thing. I would probably wait a few more weeks until the next time.
