Mac Jones Through 2 Games (2021 vs 2022 vs 2023) By QTR and Redzone Totals

This was in another thread too but it kind of belongs here as well:

He is the most pressured QB because that is the book on Jones. Rattle him.

Nothing is going to change unless Defenses fear the Pats throwing deep.

Stop the NE run game and force Jones to beat you. Simple formula to win.

We're talking about games won.

Pure W's and L's are a poor way to assess a QB who plays in just one facet of a team sport with 51 other guys. Were all those losses directly the result of Mac? I can think of at least three that weren't.
If that's the case you don't get to put all 16w on Mac's shoulders... because he's just playing in one facet of the game...

Great. Let's do that then and look at his individual stats.

It's amazing how much people are trying to convince themselves that it's not Macs fault. He's PART of the problem. He has never won a game at the end. This is what bad teams do. They do enough to tease you. He hasn't lost you games with tons of turnovers(minimal) but he hasn't won you games.

The defense is expected to hold under 20 points and Mac gets you 21. Last year the defense scored so many points and set you up in scoring range. Where is that this year? You have the peppers fumble and Gonzalez int
Yeah go to work and have your boss and colleagues sabotage your work and tell you are the main reason due to which nothing is getting done.

That's the same thing that happening with Mac. He has outplayed both QBs on a 2-0 team despite having inferior weapons and paper thin offensive line with the most pressure and you want to blame him. Watch what happened to Daniel Jones during cowboys giants game and then see how Mac is doing.

Could parse out the games... who scored what... how long the drives were... how much special teams and the defense contributed to each game victory... I'll be on the road for a few hours this morning, should give you plenty of time to work that up...

Or we can could continue to wait for him to step it up when it matters most...

Mac is one of the most pressured QB's this season and he's still putting up top 10 QB stats. Maybe that was true in years past but not this one.

He has. He didn't make Booty not drag his foot. He didn't asked to get drilled right as he was throwing to Henry. He didn't ask the refs to reverse their first down call.

The kid is fine, he's just not Tom Brady 2007-2018, and there's a whole bunch of the fan base that's never gonna like him because of it. They might like the next guy, but never gonna appreciate Mac.

First things first -get that damned OL healthy and on the field together.

I’m still not a Mac fan (neither a hater), but I fully admit that I still really don’t know who he is.

That offense needs to mature - Sow and Mafi are getting a lot of training under live fire, but both should be backups.

The WRs are what they are, and with Thornton hurt, Pop benched, Boutte inactive, they have no potential higher ceiling than where we are right now.

It's actually been a relief to view the Pats this year with QB top of mind. A 3-TD effort to start vs. the Iggles seemed to confirm the "It's Judge/Patricia" narrative (I always like confirmation of things "everybody knows.")

4 in 2 games extrapolates to 32 on 16, though he gets 17 to work with. I just didn't want to try to do fancy math. Now that said, tiny sample size (and by the way, I don't want the extrapolated 16 int. if we have a choice, but if not.... I'll take that 2-1 ratio. Tom's not here man.)

Every game you see one more card

Hes on pace to throw for 4500 yards in 5 and 10 yard increments.

Whoopee, make a banner.
There’s no room. Your binky Zappy smurf already has one up that says “2 AnD Oh LaST yEaR”. Understandable. There wasn’t much to celebrate when the 32nd ranked Bears defense put a stop to that nonsense so might as well ignore that part.

I think he has improved significantly especially on throws outside the pocket and scrambling throws. Though he has not connected on deep balls, it's more due to receivers not able to run at the right speed as opposed to under thrown balls. Bourne being the culprit on couple of throws.
Strongly disagree with this. Imho, Mac needs to improve his timing and has to release it earlier. Let's say Bourne is running at close to ball tracking top speed (20mph), then every 0.1sec is basically a yard. If he has to slow down at all, the DB will catch up.

I don't know how these QBs adjust for all the different speed/acceleration profiles of different WRs. It makes sense a QB is gonna tend to have a go to guy since their timing will be worked out. Probably why Burrow and Chase have been so successful.

The first quarter is an issue...

Its disconcerting how poorly we play in Q1.
This is coaching. This team has, for years now, come out in Q1 not ready to play. It's really hard to win when you routinely spot the other team 25% of the game.
