Please stop the crap David Carr thew to a Jag for the game tying TD. How many times have Mac threw a ball like that for a TD?? VERY few! you know why he's scared that it might get picked. I have seen enough of Mac Jones he won't ruin anymore of my Sundays can't wait for the season to end. It should be a fun Off-season for the Patriots so many things to set right.
See how the minute someone gave you a counter argument you deflected and decided to go away from discussing young QB’s to a vet…. who also has the guy who might be the best WR in the league in Adams lol. Who incidentally… would not be in position to win the game without Adams.

Fact is 2 of the 3 QB’s you mentioned (besides Burrow because he was injured year one) all had their entire fanbase down on them until they got a stud WR.

Our best WR could not even make it as a number 2 WR on the Dolphins, Bills, or Bengals.

We have an offensive talent problem. We look have had that since 2019 when Edelman declined and Gronk left.

Sorry you just can’t accurately evaluate things if they don’t fit your one talking point

You go debate that with those who say you don't need a legit #1WR to win in this league. Hey I wanted WR not named T Thornton where we picked him see page 13. I wanted a WR named A. J. Brown when we Drafted Harry but BB shopped for the groceries.

The Majority of Pats Fans know that the Jets Zach Wilson sucks but there's hope for Mac... Why because we Drafted him?? Hypocrites. Based on his cowardly play I am confident Mac Jones will not be the Patriots Starting QB 2023. BB doesn't have another year to waste the lights are at the end of the tunnel him for him to go off in the sunset.

Wanna bet? Barring injury or some other act of God, Mac will be the starting QB at the start of the 2023 season. I'll donate $100 to the charity of your choice if he isn't (again barring injury or some other crazy occurrence).

I don't bet or gamble but I will make a public apology to you and others on Patsfans.com if that happens. That's my gentleman's agreement.

Let's hope there is no Bon Fires with 10 jerseys this weekend it's going be cold. If there was ever a time.

Mac has been bad this year BUT he did look good last year with a real OC in McDaniels. So while I get the tendency for the groups to pull out the pitchforks.

I'm not willing to yet throw Mac down the drain until we see this offense with a real OC. Every player from the OL to the receivers to the tight ends have regressed to career lows this year. The offense is worse than the cam newton offense...with better talent. I would bet any money had bill handled the coaching staff this summer like any normal NFL team (hiring real OC and staff not your buddies who've never done it before) or we kept McDaniels this offense and team would look MUCH different.

Bill in his arrogance underestimated how tough coaching an offense is. And on top of it has the buffoon come up with a new offense and change it in the off-season.

Either we are going to ignore the elephant in the room (Patricia) and ALL of the media analysis that says this offensive playcalling is a mess. To feed a narrative that this is all Mac...and somehow he's holding back Patricias brilliance. Or we can look at the big picture. Mac has not been good. But he isn't helped by having horrible coaching, playcalling which has hampered his development to a point where he doesn't even look like an NFL QB.

If Mac Jones looks this bad next year with a real OC calling plays the. I'll hop on the "Mac sucks" bandwagon. But for now I only have 2 examples of mac. One as a rookie where he looked poised and threw 23 tds with McDaniels. And this year which it's clear the offense is a mess.

So he's a big question mark.

Yeah, the jury is still out on Jones. He wasn't given a fair shot this year. All you have to do is look at the pictures Bedard put on Twitter to see that Patricia's play design is complete and utter crap. As a kid we used to design better plays playing street football. When I played QB in those games, I only told Johnny to run to the blue Camry and look for the ball. I didn't tell Johnny and Bill to both run to the blue Camry and look for the ball.

Who knows if Jones will turn into a franchise QB. Going into next year, he will be on his third OC and offensive system. But I don't know if I can trust any evaluation on anyone on the offense at this point. Look at Kendrick Bourne. He went from arguably the Pats' best receiver to being an afterthought who gets less balls than Jonnu Smith in some games. Hell, even Stevenson may be a far better stud than he is now if he actually had plays designed where he wasn't running into a wall of defenders and having to make plays on his own.

This is just bonkers:

Is it actually bonkers? A double-stacked release isn’t uncommon at all. If one of those guys carries deep and the other breaks out, that’s a pretty common route concept.

Likewise for the crossers in the middle of the field. You can actually see Meyers breaking open as Henry crosses, creating a rub concept of sorts. Good play to beat man coverage; Mac missed Meyers breaking open.

The play Bedard showed with Thornton and Henry occupying the same space is the one that strikes me as a bigger issue than the play above.

I really wonder how often similar things could be found on still film images for past Patriots’ offenses - or any offense - and we’re seeing things now where previously (or elsewhere) nothing would register (because of our frustrations - or lack thereof - with the offensive coaching).

I do agree that guys need to be getting into and out of their routes with more urgency and explosiveness. Watching the Pats-Dolphins game from 2016 (if I remember the year correctly) when Jimmy G started, and it’s darn impressive to see the urgency and burst with which Jules, Danny, and Hogan were running their routes.

Make no mistake, though, the timing/rhythm/placement of throws also has a big role in route sequencing/coordination/timing, and Jimmy (and Brady) got the ball out to those guys on time, in rhythm, and with some serious zip/placement, at a much higher level than Mac has demonstrated so far.

Mac Jones Franchise QB. How about hoping he becomes an average QB he's well below average.

I used to think the Jets were ruining Zach Wilson, but that was until I heard how much of an entitled douche he is. He is another Baker Mayfield. I don't think Wilson would do well no matter what system or coaching staff he is in. He is a guy doesn't seem to want to work for what he gets and feels everything should be given to him.

If Wilson had Jones' work ethic and willingness to improve himself, I would blame the Jets. But this guy refused to use the Jets' recommendation for a throwing coach and wanted them to his high school throwing coach on staff. And all the Jets players hate Wilson. All you have to do is look at the press conference after the second Pats' game where the Jets' offense scored three points and when he was asked whether he feels he let the Jets' defense down, he said "No". He couldn't even fake the standard QB platitudes that he, as QB, is responsible for all the problems on offense and all that ********. He just said one word - "No".

They are ten yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Usually if one guy breaks, it is before the point where the QB is throwing. Once the ball is in the air, it is too late. The defender plays the ball and not the guy he is covering. Plus there are two other receivers within five yards of the two double stacked receivers. One of those other receivers are running towards the two stacked receivers. There are six people blocking at the line. So every single receiver on that play are all in a five yard radius on the field with five defenders in the area. This entire play is a huge cluster f by the receivers.

I have said it a few times now I don't really have a dog in the Mac vs Zappe debate but to me pulling Mac this season you might as well write him off for next season and basically his career here. Mac showed enough promise his rookie year that it would make sense to see what he can do next year without a clown show at OC.

Horrible game in a bad year for Jones, in the presence of a vacuum at (the announced) OC spot.

Well, we can turn around for 3 games and get hot at the right moment -- unlikely -- or we can be looking at the offseason to fix it. Provisionally disappointing.

Give us a W in Cincinnati and it looks interesting.

Yeah, if Jones is benched again, he is likely done in New England. I wouldn't be surprised if he asks to be traded if he isn't. He would definitely ask if he is.

By benching Jones, you are basically saying he is the problem, not Patricia. I don't think Belichick believes that.

While I am definitely nervous that Bill keeps Patricia as OC next year I think he knows this has been a mess. He all but admitted so when he said the other day it was too late now to make any major changes with the offense. At this point I think if Patricia is back as OC Mac is asking for a trade. Mac has been openly insubordinate on national television and a quick hug for the cameras isn't going to mend that fence.

There can be more than one problem at once.
