Dude you are a First Rounder in your Second year. At least Justin Fields showed why he was Drafted ahead of you.

Honestly I think we need a huge shakeup maybe they are waiting til after the Jets game to determine if they are buyers or sellers in the trade market.

Am I the only tired of these Mac pressers??

Taking responsibility for his own shortcomings is perhaps the one thing he does better than Rodgers.

But he does have shortcomings.
If Mac had say a Ryan Mallet Arm I could forgive Everything else.
I know Zappe doesn’t have a cannon but he has a quick compact release and spread the ball around.
This team is in more disarray than when we had Cam playing.
It’s a mess and I don’t think this current 53 or staff has what it takes to right the ship.
When the schedule came out I said we might be last in the AFC East now we are battling for a top 10 or top 5 pick.

Rodgers is HOFer shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with a possibly Journeyman QB at best.

One step forward in 2021 two steps back in 2022.

IF Mac flames out we might have to spend that pick on a signal caller again hopefully one with a cannon arm.

Serous question if we finish last in the conference 1 of 2 things has to happen.
Go all in for Lamar Jackson or clean house completely coaching staff everything.

Wolfe and Groh and Troy Brown excluded.
Make Hoyer OC or head coach for the love of it.
I've seen you write this multiple times now and hope you continue to lol. That poster thought Jackson was worth a 6th-7th RD pick so I doubt you get an objective answer. He's not a draft guy though. We actually had OTG value him there too.

Some fans just wouldn't accept him plain and simple. Still stuck thinking he's a RB playing QB.

If we lose this next game every real fan should be rooting for L's. Start a list with our most talented players and we'll soon see a huge disparity between us & them. Sure coaching matters ... when the margins are super thin. Bill isn't winning us a SB by scheming up 8-10 wins.

This team has been missing "Z" type talent for years and desperately could use some.

No, they're the same.

With this starter announced, need a bit extra (understatement) to get on the scoreboard
Fully expect BB to unlock the gimmick playbook for this game
At least 2 flea flickers
Couple of Jacobi passes, maybe Rham chucks a bomb as well
Wildcat with Jonnu taking the snap
Maybe a fake punt given how Bailey has fizzled

1.) Belichick believes Jones gives the team the best chance to win right now. Based on what we’ve seen, he’s lost the thread if he thinks this.

2.) Belichick thinks this season is a lost cause and is willing to give Jones the rest of the season to see if he can work through his issues. Very antithetical to BB if true.

3.) Belichick wants a do-over of Monday night, and is taking things game-to-game, evaluating play, including potentially benching Jones again. In light of last Monday night, this seems pretty curious.

I don’t understand this decision. Zappe has played better on the balance of the season. He played better on Monday night. Jones was benched for performance reasons. Zappe has earned the right to start until he stinks. Like I said - you play Jones and he continues to stink. What then? Keep playing him despite the suckage? Or bench him … again … and have a repeat of MNF?

Belichick has woefully mismanaged this situation and this decision is just more of the same.

Belichicks lack of endorsement publicly for Mac is all you need to know.
Exactly. I can't stand all these people who are saying BB created a QB controversy.

BB didn't create it......Mac did by going 2-7 in his last 9 games and throwing 21 picks in 20 games.

...and if people want to blame Jabba the Matt for Mac's woes just look at Zappe before the 2nd 1/2 of the CHI game.

"Mac deserves to be starter"

Mac doesn't deserve jack squat.

This is a performance-based business and he ain't performin'

BB believes Mac has worked hard and has EARNED the right to start.

If he sucks during the game he has EARNED the right to carry a clipboard

For Christ's sake, just ****ing put Mac in, stick to it, and ride it out. We are in one of the more competitive, if not the most competitive division this year (in our short sample size). Not sure why folks had a lot of Zappe fever, his performance might have started off a bit more consistent but that guy's ceiling is much lower than Mac's.

I don't care _why_ they changed the offense - if it was to see what Mac could do or at the insistence of Mac to have something similar to Alabama, but change that **** back, and keep it simple. The guy is a good competitor but not insanely smart nor does it seem like he has an otherworldly football IQ - that isn't to say it's bad, but at some point the coaching staff needs to be like "bud. Let's get you hot. Let's get your momentum going. We can start to trickle in some of these verticle wrinkles later, but with how things are going, let's just shred up short and intermediate passes, give Stevenson a lot of carries, and grind out some good games. Keep it simple, stop trying to save the game only two drives in."

Jones had an otherworldly offense in a lesser league against MUCH lesser defenses. Why try to replicate that, it's just too many variables to account for that we can't duplicate.

I'd have gone with Zappe, since this year at least Zappe clearly beat Mac out, but in a way this is good. We can finally dispense with all the aggrieved handwringing over Mac's "hurt feelings" and see whether he's still worth anything as a qb.

Ride what out? So just play him for the remainder of the season if he sucks no matter what?

I don't agree that he sucks. At the end of last season he lost twice to Buffalo. Not including Monday night where he only played 3 series, he's lost at Miami and to Baltimore this year. I really can't blame him for any of those losses. In the Ravens game he had 3 picks but one was a Hail Mary on the last play down 10, one was Parker running the wrong route, and the other may have been his fault but many felt it was MP's fault. This last pick vs Chicago was definitely on him though - even if it hit the cam wire there was nobody open.

He can make most of the throws, has better mobility than anyone thought, and is good enough to get us to the playoffs. I'm getting a little tired of the overblown criticisms. Zappe did a nice job filling in, but Monday night exposed him as very limited. Mac is our best bet.

I am sure the Jets fans just did this yesss!

Just the opposite. Mac has beaten the Jete twice -- including in their house -- and knows their defensive tendencies.

We are getting blown out! we'll be talking about the Draft soon enough.

Ridiculous.

To a small degree, sure.

To a difference making degree, not likely.

There are QB's that would have been borderline Hall of Famers with a stronger arm, but no matter how much they tried, they couldn't increase their velocity.
Not to a small degree. An increase in muscle can lead to an exponential increase in velocity.

And it's not all it's cracked up to be. You don't need to be able to throw a 80 frozen rope ... You need to be able to throw the passes you need to make. It has more to do with accuracy and proper mechanics.

And there are a ton of guys with canons for arms who just plain fail.
