Well Mac needs to have a good game it's been a while: let's hope he doesn't keep the other Team in it.

Most of Macs issues stem from, in my opinion, poor coaching and poor play calling...

He has the ability to hit every throw he needs to be able to hit. What he desperately needs to have is a coach to sit down with him and say "you like plays a,b,c,d,e, & f ... well we are dumping plays c,d,e,& f for now, and adding plays x y and z back in from last year... when he asks why, explain that what he is doing isnt working...

Here’s why this makes no sense:

You just sat Jones for performance reasons. That sent a message to the team.

You play Zappe and he stinks, then Jones can try his hand again.

But you’re re-committing to Jones now … and if he plays better, great. But if he continues to suck, you’re stuck. Bench him again and reignite the MNF fiasco? Or let him play despite his struggles, and the message that sends.

I see no reason this makes sense.

If you look at what BB did with the QB situation when he was coaching the Browns this isn't far off from what he did there. The reason we never saw that here is because Tom Brady made it a non-issue.

If Mac screws the pooch again, then you put Zappe in with little to no practice reps and a deficit, what do you likely end up with… another loss… this time a division loss.

Drew had some bad hurt going on inside. Brady had the time to become firmly entrenched as the starter, so much so, Drew never stood a chance to get his job back.

Unless Bill feels that Mac is the better QB and feels his issues are mental.

Still how he's handled this whole situation makes no sense. He should've just either played Mac the whole game against the bears or started Zappe. This whole pulling Mac then putting in zappe, then putting Mac as starter again.

Very far from the popular decision (or even mine if it were up to me), but the right decision, imho. Josh Allen after 4 games his 2nd year: 3TDs, 6INTs against teams with a combined record of 25-39. We'll see if Mac Jones can repeat his success from last year (2 wins against the NYJ) against this year's powerhouse team that beat the Browns, the QB starter flipping Steelers, Skylar, the ghost of Aaron, and the bad Rypien.

He had plenty of time to keep up in that game, but drive after drive stalled. And that's the problem with these QB's. Once the defense stops the run, the Pats don't have anything else in their arsenal.

Probably. What we are seeing is what most teams went through while the Pats had 20 years of stability at QB. The carousel will continue until the position stabilizes.

To a small degree, sure.

To a difference making degree, not likely.

There are QB's that would have been borderline Hall of Famers with a stronger arm, but no matter how much they tried, they couldn't increase their velocity.
