Meyers is too good of a young talent to cut. Gunner is too good on special teams to cut. The obvious move is DT to IR.

A RUSTY Patriots team just dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers without Kyle Van Noy, Ben Watson, Demarius Thomas, Damien Harris and N'Keal Harry. Think about that for a moment.

I'm beginning to think the biggest reason to have AB is to keep him off the Chiefs/Chargers/Saints,, etc.

Roster-wise, he is like putting a side of ham on one of those Heart Attack burgers they have in Vegas served by waitresses wearing nurses outfits.....

This is quite literally the reason. The best reason for us to have him is to keep him off the Chiefs. I said that was why I wanted to get him before we did.

You seem to believe that Myers is different than the some many other UDFA's we've had. Belichick can find more next year if need be.

I definitely think Meyers is better than many rookie WR that came through Foxboro so far. He seemed to understand route running pretty well, according to beat guys knows how to set himself up at the LOS with footwork and has shown some toughness on hits after the catch in the preseason games and yesterday.

That's why I wrote that to me he has WR3 / lower WR2 potential.

There is also no guarantee that Dorsett will be available for extension. Maybe after winning yet another ring he will want to have more playtime at a different place to have a shot at a bigger contract at some point.

The only good thing is that we should know soon. Moving LaCosse to IR/releasing him and postponing the decision for another week via Kendrick's roster exemption seems to me the most pragmatic move if you really wanna keep the WR depth intact.

I doubt you will be able to move Obi, Gunner or Meyers to the PS.

If you extend him now then Meyers situation absolutely changes... at least from my POV. Then I am with you that Meyers becomes another possible sacrificial target.
